  • Patent number: 7166229
Abstract: A system for extracting a liquid by pressing a humid mass, the system including at least one extraction channel, while extraction channel being provided with at least one inlet allowing to feed the extraction channel with the humid mass to be treated; with walls provided with holes allowing the flow of the liquid contained in the humid mass being pressed, and with at least one outlet allowing the discharge of the dehydrated mass obtained by pressing in the extracting channel, wherein the outlet of the channel, positioned between the walls provided with holes and the exterior, is free of contraints or only includes weak constraints whose level is controlled as a function of physical parameters. This systems is suitable for the efficient continuous dewatering treatment of a feeding source with a composition, consistency and nature of the solid particles present in the feeding source susceptible to vary during the processing.

  • Patent number: 6980126
Abstract: A unit for pedestrian control of traffic lights operated by a traffic light controller, comprises a casing adapted to be mounted to a traffic light post, the casing having a bottom face carrying a window, and a photocell mounted in the casing for directing a beam through the window in a downward direction generally parallel to the post to which the casing is mounted. The photocell is responsive to the presence of a pedestrian's hand placed beneath the window in the beam. The photocell is adapted to be operatively connected to the traffic light controller to send a signal thereto when the presence of a pedestrian has been detected.

  • Patent number: 4858143
Abstract: In a routing method for efficiently routing the interconnections of a printed circuit board, the list of interconnections to be made is ordered to provide a work order for deriving routes. The circuit board is notionally divided into a grid of addressable cells. Then grid lines are considered in turn. A particular grid line may have a certain number (x) of cells that are full and so cannot be used for routing and other cells which are empty and so available for routing (capacity). If all interconnections to be made were made by direct spans then that particular grid line would have grid crossings occupying a certain number (y) of cells (occupancy). A MAOMIC (maximum occupancy-minimum capacity) product of that grid line is derived. When assigning routes, the routes of those interconnections which, if directly made, would cross the grid line of highest MAOMIC product are assigned first.

  • Patent number: 4777606
Abstract: In a routing method for efficiently routing interconnections of a printed circuit board, an ordered list of interconnections to be made is first developed, each interconnection consisting of a source and a target. The interconnection medium is notionally divided into cells and, in a flooding routine for deriving the route between a particular source and target, cells at a progressively increasing distance from the source are considered. The progressive flooding is performed under a preset control by associating a respective cost with each of a number of possible flooding directions. At any time, flooding occurs from that cell to which the accummulated cost of flooding from the source is a minimum. Eventually a target cell is reached and by tracing backpointer directions associated with the intervening cells, the least cost route is derived as a series of contiguous line segments having position, length and orientation.
