  • Publication number: 20170015586
Abstract: A cement clinker manufacturing method implemented in a continuous production facility having at least one fuel combustion area for firing an inorganic raw material into hot clinker, then the hot clinker is cooled in: a first cooling step in a first cooler; and a second consecutive cooling step in a second cooler. The first cooling step is continually carried out by blowing an oxygen gas on the hot clinker to obtain partially cooled clinker, and all the heated oxygen gas, created by the first cooler, is sent to the combustion area for use as combustion gas by adjusting the amount of oxygen gas, blown in the first cooler, such as to cover the combustion gas needs of the facility without any excess; and the partially cooled clinker is stored in a storage chamber, and the second cooling step is intermittently carried out on the partially cooled clinker.

  • Publication number: 20110113987
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing cement clinker in a plant having a cyclone preheater, a precalcination reactor, a rotary furnace and a clinker cooler. According to the invention, the flue gases produced by the rotary furnace are separated from the gases from the preheater so as not to mix them, the precalcination reactor is fed with an oxygen-rich gas and a portion of the gases leaving the cyclone preheater is recycled into said precalcination reactor, or even into the preheater so as to obtain a flux suitable for suspending matter in the preheater. The non-recycled other portion of the gases, rich in carbon dioxide, is adapted for the purpose of limiting the amount of CO2 discharged, by means such as sequestration means.

  • Patent number: 6755906
Abstract: A process and a device for eliminating harmful volatile elements, in particular chlorides and/or sulfates, contained in a stream of particle-laden fumes, in which a given fraction of at least 5% of the fumes, referred to as ‘by-passed fumes’, is extracted. The harmful elements of the by-passed fumes are caused to condense, at least with regard to their particles, according to a distribution that is a function of the fraction extracted, and the particles are filtered to isolate the harmful elements. At the time of filtering, the particles are separated into at least two fractions, one with a fine grain size and the other with a coarse grain size, using a separation selectivity adapted to the distribution of the elements in order for the coarse grain size faction to be poor in harmful elements and for the fine grain size fraction to be rich in harmful elements. Application to the production of cement clinker, in particular Portland cement clinker.

  • Patent number: 5238400
Abstract: An apparatus for distributing pneumatically conveyed solid pulverulent material over an annular area of large diameter comprises an enclosure defining an annular chamber having a substantially vertical axis, a closed upper end and a lower end, an upper portion adjacent the closed upper end and a lower portion adjacent the lower end. A section defined by a plane extending perpendicularly to the axis has a constant area in the upper portion and an area decreasing progressively towards the lower end in the lower portion. An annular outlet opening or a series of annularly arranged outlet openings is defined by the lower end, and an inlet conduit for a flow of gaseous fluid for pneumatically conveying the solid pulverulent material into the chamber is connected to the upper chamber portion so that the gaseous fluid flow penetrates the chamber in an approximately radial direction.
