Abstract: The present invention discloses a system for displaying images, comprising: a light source; a panel including an active area and a peripheral area; a light guide being located at one side of the light source and under the panel, the light guide having a first side facing the panel and a second side opposite to the first side; and a plurality of optical foils, each foil disposed on the first or second side of the light guide, wherein at least one of the optical foil has a hotspot-reducing area in the peripheral area in order to reduce or eliminate a hotspot in front of the light source, wherein the hotspot-reducing area is a cut-out area, a covered area, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: The invention relates to a display device comprising a plurality of light emitting elements (1), wherein at least one of the elements has an associated capacitor (C1). The display device comprises pre-charging means (7;8) for generating a pre-charge signal for charging the associated capacitor (C1) at least partly. The pre-charging means (7;8) are adapted for generating a pre-charge signal comprising at least a first pre-charge signal in a first pre-charge stage and a second pre-charge signal in a second pre-charge stage. The pre-charge signal preferably comprises a current pre-charge signal followed by a voltage pre-charge signal. The combined pre-charge signal has the advantage of fast, but accurate pre-charging.

Abstract: A simulator, in particular for simulating thermal batteries, the simulator delivering an output voltage U.sub.bat across output terminals thereof, said output voltage being a function of a current I.sub.out delivered, into a load connected to said terminals, and of an e.m.f. parameter. E.sub.g and of an internal resistance parameter R.sub.g that are determined from simulation profiles that give successive values taken by said parameters under real battery operating conditions during an active life cycle of a given battery. Abstract: Novel infusion-making machine characterized by a filter consisting of superposed crowns located in a centrifuging chamber eccentric with respect to a central shaft rotated by a motor, and submitted to a compound motion. The adjustments of the crowns permits infusing and filtering over a broad range so that the machine may be used in a variety of applications.

Abstract: A coffee mill comprising a vertical screw of generally cylindrical form, provided with at least one helical groove and mounted to cooperate with a truncated conical crushing chamber having a section decreasing towards a cylindrical bore at the lower end of the chamber, which section serves to guide the lower part of the said screw, said groove having a pitch which decreases progressively towards its lower end, and a depth which decreases progressively towards its lower end.
