Patent number: 9500380Abstract: An exhaust vent has a plate that mounts on a building external wall. Attached to the plate is a main body with an aperture extending therethrough, and a first seal surrounding the aperture. A flap is pivotally attached to the body, alternately opening and closing the aperture. The flap has an inner surface having a flange projecting therefrom. The flange fits within a groove provided within the main body, the groove having a second seal recessed therein. The groove and abuts the body second seal when the flap is in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2012Date of Patent: November 22, 2016Inventors: Serge Ramsay, Linda Ramsay

Patent number: 9441854Abstract: An exhaust which comprises a mounting plate mountable onto the external wall of the building and having an opening therein. The exhaust vent also comprises a main body attachable to the mounting plate and having a rear face, a front face, and an aperture extending from the rear face to the front face in fluid communication with the opening of the mounting plate and the conduit. The exhaust vent also comprises a flap pivotally attached to the main body and movable between a closed position, where the aperture is blocked by the flap, and an opened position where the flap extends away from the aperture. Finally the exhaust vent comprises a first seal which surrounds the aperture when the flap is in the closed position, the seal being located on either one of the flap or the main body. This invention aims at improving air-tightness of the exhaust vent when in the flap is in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2012Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Inventors: Serge Ramsay, Linda Ramsay

Patent number: 9222691Abstract: A roof ventilator including: a first module defining a first module passageway having a first passageway longitudinal axis. The first module including a first module louver support extending substantially parallel to the first passageway longitudinal axis and a first module louver for creating a draft within the first module passageway upon wind blowing onto the first module louver. The first module louver extending from the first module louver support, located peripherally relatively to the first module passageway. A second module attached to the first module, defining a second module passageway, in fluid communication with the first module passageway and defining a second passageway longitudinal axis. The second module including a second module louver support, extending substantially parallel to the second passageway longitudinal axis. A second module louver creates a draft within the second module passageway upon wind blowing onto the second module louver.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2006Date of Patent: December 29, 2015Inventors: Serge Ramsay, Jean-Rock Ramsay, Linda Ramsay
