  • Patent number: 8462208
Abstract: System and method for tridimensional cartography of a structural surface. Two wires are extended in front and along the structural surface so as to define a reference surface. A measuring unit comprising a laser arrangement and a camera is moved in front of the structural surface so as to progressively scan the surface. Tow distinct light planes directed toward the structural surface are projected by means of the laser arrangement. Images of the structural surface containing lines resulting from an intersection of the light planes with the structural surface and four reference points resulting from an intersection of the light planes with the wires are captured by means of the camera. The images are processed to determine the 3D coordinates of the lines defining the mapping in a reference system bound to the reference surface considering the position and the orientation of the measuring unit based on the reference points.

  • Patent number: 8307563
Abstract: Device and method for precisely aligning at least one wire in a plane projecting from a surface on which an end of the wire is anchored. The wire in taut position is held by a fastener rigidly connected to an inclinometer capable of measuring an inclination of the wire. The inclinometer is connected to a mobile member of a structure by a joint having elements articulated with respect to each other in order to allow a relative angular displacement of the elements. The mobile member is movable with respect to the surface in order to allow a positioning of the wire in the plane according to the inclination of the wire measured by the inclinometer free to turn freely according to an axis of the wire. The device is adaptable for aligning two wires forming a precise reference plane.

  • Patent number: 6984949
Abstract: A method and system for preventing the movements of an electric vehicle in a direction opposite a desired direction are described herein. The electric vehicle comprises an electric motor linked to at least one wheel of the vehicle. The method comprises detecting the direction of the desired movement; detecting a movement of the vehicle in the direction opposite the desired direction; calculating a torque to be applied by the motor to the at least one wheel to counteract the movement of the vehicle in the undesired direction; and applying the counteracting torque to the at least one wheel via the electric motor.

  • Publication number: 20040251095
Abstract: A braking system for electric vehicles that gives a driver the feel of a conventional hydraulic braking system while maximizing the recuperation of electrical power is described herein. A single brake pedal is used to control both electric and hydraulic braking assemblies. A feedback force generator is provided to give the driver the impression that a completely hydraulic braking system is used. Therefore, the driver is not inclined to further depress the pedal, thereby preventing the premature activation of the hydraulic braking system.
