  • Patent number: 9856584
Abstract: Methods for making yarns are provided which include the steps of supplying continuous polymer filaments, detaching from at least a part of the continuous polymer filaments, and at least one continuous reinforcement filament, a plurality of discontinuous polymer fibers and of discontinuous reinforcement fibers to obtain a composite sliver, and twisting the composite sliver to obtain a roving from which yarn may be obtained. Yarns produced by such methods as well as textiles, fabrics and garments which include such yarns are also provided. Such yarns may be particularly useful in the production of, for example, protective gloves.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2014
Date of Patent: January 2, 2018
Assignee: FILTES INTERNATIONAL S.R.L. CON SOCIO UNICO
    Inventors: Sergio Carrara, Giuliano Gandossi
  • Patent number: 9279198
Abstract: Yarns are provided which may include a core having a continuous filament, a first covering of said filament, obtained by winding a first yarn in a first winding direction, a second covering superposed over the first covering, made by winding a second yarn in an opposite winding direction, so as to form an open-coiling cover, at least one third covering, obtained by winding at least one sliver having discontinuous fibers in the same winding direction as the second yarn, positioning the fibers at least in the interspaces of said open-coiling cover. Durable and comfortable textiles and garments made from such yarn and methods of making same are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070215831
Abstract: The present invention relates to an on-off valve provided with sealing means for the control stem. The sealing means comprise a plurality of sealing rings of expanded graphite and a gland device for placing said rings in compression. The sealing means further comprise a further active element arranged on the bottom wall, provided with an expansion room wherein the fluid pressure causes a thrust action towards said sealing ring. Said sealing means distribute the strain state of the compressed rings in an optimum manner.

  • Patent number: 5910204
Abstract: A method for producing packing for the stuffing of boxes, among other purposes. In one embodiment, the packing enables compressive forces to be transmitted uniformly from a gland along an entire winding of the packing so as to eliminate stresses within the packing itself. The method includes a step in which elementary yarns converge to form the packing at an assembly point and a step in which the packing is wound into a coil starting at the assembly point.
