  • Publication number: 20040190080
Abstract: An object of the invention is to obtain a high-quality image by reading an image of an electronic paper with high accuracy. When optically copying the electronic paper, a controller reads out display characteristics such as a reading resolution and a reading light quantity from a display characteristic memory of the electronic paper. The controller performs optical copying processing after setting optimal conditions on the basis of the display characteristics which have been read out from the display characteristic memory.

  • Publication number: 20040160409
Abstract: At a host device, attribute information (the presence or absence of an overwriting prohibition and the like) of each of image display mediums (electronic papers) is stored in association with individual identification numbers, which are unique to each image display medium. Hence, when a predetermined image is to be displayed at an image display medium in accordance with input from an operation portion, for example, an image display medium for which an overwriting prohibition has not been written to the attribute information can be selected, and image data can be transmitted to this display medium for displaying the image. Thus, image display at each image display medium can be excellently controlled in accordance with attribute information such as overwriting prohibitions and the like.

  • Publication number: 20040145989
Abstract: A recording medium is structured by a recording layer, which is for storing storage data, and an indication layer, which is for indication information used for identifying the storage data, being laminated together. Writing and deletion are possible at the indication layer. A PC generates inputted storage data and indication information for identifying the storage data, and transmits them to a writing/reading device. The writing/reading device writes the storage data and the indication information to the recording medium. The storage data is written at the recording layer, and the indication information is written at the indication layer. The storage data stored at the recording medium can be easily and correctly grasped.

  • Publication number: 20040113865
Abstract: A holding stand is constituted by a carrying case for holding sheets of electronic paper and a base for uprightly supporting the carrying case that is substantially vertical. From the holding stand, two page fields, each expressing the number of pages of sheets of electronic paper to be displayed and position page field expressing a current page position of electronic paper and incremented on each of the sheets, are added to image data, and the image data is output to the sheets of electronic paper. In each sheets, when the two page fields coincide with each other in comparison between the two page fields, an image based on the image data is displayed in a display region. When the two page fields are different from each other, the position page field is incremented by one, and the position page field is transmitted to the next electronic paper.

  • Patent number: 6733105
Abstract: The image recording method records an image of a still subject on a recording medium using a diffuse reflection image signal of the image representing the still subject under a state where illumination light is diffuse-reflected and a glossiness signal representing glossiness of the still subject. The method forms a diffuse reflection image of the still subject on the recording medium based on the diffuse reflection image signal and forms a gloss adjustment layer made of a transparent gloss adjustment material in each region in units of pixels of the diffuse reflection image formed on the recording medium based on signal values of the glossiness signal.

  • Patent number: 6396564
Abstract: A photographic film, which is accommodated in a cartridge provided with a storing element for storing printing information, is separated from the cartridge. An identification mark for having the film and the cartridge correspond to one another is applied to the film. The printing information stored in the storing element is read by a first reading device. The printing information read by the first reading device and the identification mark are stored in correspondence with each other. The printing information corresponding to the identification mark applied to the film is read by second reading device. In accordance with the printing information read by the second reading device, an image recorded on the photographic film is printed onto a photographic printing paper in a state in which the cartridge and the photographic film are separated from each other.
