  • Patent number: 6305564
Abstract: A biaxially oriented bottle having a carrying handle is provided. A carrying handle, which is provided at a side surface of a neck portion, and which is injection molded together with the neck portion of a preform, is used without further modification as the carrying handle of a biaxial stretching blow molded, thinly formed bottle. The carrying handle is integrally formed in a U-shaped configuration from a grip portion and arm portions on both ends of the grip portion. The arm portions are integrally formed with base portions comprising projected pieces formed at symmetrical positions on both sides of the neck portion. The arm portions, moreover, extend out to the sides with a length greater than the height of the neck portion. The boundary of the base portion and arm portion is thinly molded by being constricted and forms a connecting portion which can be freely bent in a vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 6299007
Abstract: A heat-resistant packaging container made of a polyester resin, formed by stretch-blow molding is provided. A top portion of a bottom face is formed to have a large wall thickness to impart a resistance to heat deformation. A peripheral wall of the bottom face is formed to have a wall thickness that is gradually reduced from the top portion toward an arc grounding edge around the bottom face. An outer peripheral wall of the bottom portion is stretch molded from inside of the grounding edge so as to have a wall thickness as same as that of the body portion to attain a heat resistance. The inside of the grounding edge connecting to the peripheral wall of the bottom face is formed into a tilt surface which is oriented upwardly in consideration of an amount of expanding deformation &agr; of the grounding edge due to heating and loading.

  • Patent number: 6227393
Abstract: A biaxially stretched bottle made of a thermoplastic resin having a carrying handle formed by integrally injection molding on the side of a lower neck portion of a preform at the same time when the preform is molded and applied as-formed as a carrying handle of a thin-wall bottle formed by stretch blow molding, wherein the carrying handle is formed with its arm portions extending across the both sides of the neck portion, enabled to rotate up and down with respective joining portions of base portions and the arm portion which are formed in symmetrical positions on both sides of the neck portion as its axis. This enables the change in the position of a gripping portion, which has been difficult in conventional integral forming, even in a bottle made of a material resin like PET resin which lacks in flexibility.

  • Patent number: 5951938
Abstract: An improved method for injection stretch blowing is provided. In the process, a molten resin is injected into an injection cavity defined by an injection mold, a lip mold and an injection core to form a desired preform, the cooling time for this preform being positively reduced to form a rigid skin layer on the outer surface of the preform without increasing the thickness. It is then released from the injection mold and transferred into the blow mold with a mouth portion being held with the lip mold while the skin layer keeps the configuration of the preform and the interior is in a high temperature state, and is stretch blow molded into a hollow molded article, e.g. a bottle whose major portion is ultra-thin, at the moment when the surface temperature of the preform that rises due to its own interior temperature is significantly higher than a glass transition temperature (Tg) and is expected to reach to a peak temperature.

  • Patent number: 5862929
Abstract: There is provided a bottle having a handle formed by stretch blow molding comprising an improved structure which facilitates carrying even a relatively large bottle in which a bendable handle having a flat shape extending in a transverse direction is integrally formed below a threaded portion of a neck of the bottle, and a connecting portion of said handle includes a narrow portion which is transversally provided by reducing the thickness at an intermediate portion of the connecting portion, whereby making the finger engaging tab bendable at the narrow portion in upper and lower directions, and molecular orientation of the resin material is performed by the narrow portion.

  • Patent number: 3944643
Abstract: A method for manufacturing shaped articles by injection-blow molding. A thermoplastic material is first formed into a bottomed parison by injection-molding said material onto the surface of an injection molding core. The bottomed parison formed on the surface of the core is cooled to a temperature at which it is easily removed from the core, and is removed therefrom. The parison is heated again to a predetermined temperature and the reheated parison is transferred to a blow molding mold, wherein the parison is blow-molded.
