    Abstract: Disclosed is a process for producing a titania sol which comprises an aqueous dispersion of finely-divided titania dispersed therein and has a neutral pH range. The process comprises peptizing hydrous titanium oxides with a monobasic acid or salt thereof to obtain an acidic titania sol and removing anions from the acidic titania sol.
