  • Publication number: 20090312983
Abstract: Analysis may be made of the amount that a load on a machine impacts the machine's performance. Performance counters on the machine record raw statistical data, such as a given resource's current utilization. The values of these counters may be captured. A n-bin histogram may be created that shows how many of the captured performance counter values occur within various ranges, such as 0-10% utilization, 10-20%, etc. A weight may be assigned to each bin. A weighted sum of the bins may be calculated by multiplying the number of occurrences in each bin by the bin's weight, and adding the products together. The weights may be chosen to reflect the relative amounts that particular performance counter values impact the overall performance of a machine. Thus, a metric that represents performance impact may be calculated based on the weighted sum.

  • Patent number: 5362499
Abstract: This invention is a burn remedial composition which is produced by mixing powder of the high heated abalone shells with sesame oil extracted from sesame, and its production method wherein it is characteristic that the grinding process of abalone shells heated at a temperature higher than 3000.degree. C. and the mixing process of the ground abalone shell powder and sesame oil are not performed in a stone or metallic vessel, but in a wooden vessel. A pharmaceutical additive can be added to aid the formation of a pharmaceutical type of burn remedial composition. When the burn remedial composition of the invention is applied to every degree of heat burn and fire burn for which there are few curing agents, especially to severe burns, the analgesic and antiphlogistic effects happen at that moment, the toxic materials in the injured region are eliminated within 24 hours and the injury is completely cured within 3-5 days.

  • Patent number: 4935826
Abstract: An automatic tracking device which reproduces the biggest and clearest FM video signals onto a screen utilizes the concept that the width of the video heads are to be formed larger than the track of the video tape. The size of the video signals reproduced from these video heads are compared. From this comparison the automatic tracking device controls the video heads or tape speed to cause the video signal to be the same size without requiring a separate control track. This controlling of the video signals allows the biggest FM video signals to appear on a screen having substantially no noise.
