  • Patent number: 6805063
Abstract: In a method of pulling the free end of a needle thread from the top to the bottom of at least one work piece upon a first stitch of a seam that is to be sewn, use is made of a sewing machine with at least one presser which can be placed on, and lifted off, the work piece. The needle thread is held tight while a needle-thread loop is extended by the tip of the hook so that the free end is pulled through the work piece. While the needle thread is held tight, the presser is at least partially relieved. The relief time increases as the thickness of the work piece grows.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 24, 2003
Date of Patent: October 19, 2004
    Assignee: Dürkopp Adler Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Johann Enns, Sevki Hosagasi

  • Patent number: 6647908
Abstract: A microprocessor-assisted sewing machine control equipment is flexibly applicable for controlling the sewing machine driving motor and further electric motors which are controlled independently of or in dependence on the rotary position. To this end, a control system is allocated to each electric motor, comprising an open-loop control unit for rotary-position-independent controlling, a closed-loop control unit for controlling the electric motor in dependence on the rotary position, and a selection unit. The selection unit couples for control either the closed-loop control unit or the open-loop control unit with the electric motor, depending on whether the electric motor is controlled by closed-loop control in dependence on the rotary position or by open-loop control independently of the rotary position.

  • Publication number: 20030136320
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for conveying articles to be sewed, which is provided for a sewing device or sewing machine. Said device comprises at least one material advancing device for advancing the article to be sewed in the advancing direction of the material with an advancing speed defined by the speed of the machine and by the stitch length. The device also comprises at least one material conveying supplementary device which, in the form of a pressing means, subjects the upper material layer of the article to be sewed to a pressing force. The material conveying supplementary device rotates with a rotational speed, is arranged behind the material advancing device in the advancing direction of the material and can be proportionally driven with regard to the speed of the machine and to the stitch length.

  • Patent number: 6564732
Abstract: An actuating device intended for a sewing device or sewing machine includes a material pressing device for holding down the material to be sewn during stitch formation and transport, and at least one linear motor which serves as regulating element for the material pressing device. The drive rod of the actuating element is connected to the material pressing device so as to control the pressure the pressing device exerts on the material to be sewn. The drive rod is linked to the pressing device via at least one elastic low-mass coupling element and the pressing device can be placed by the linear motor back and forth between a raised and a lowered position.
