Patent number: 11911245Abstract: A compact applicator has a two-piece telescoping plunger. The compact applicator, with such telescoping plunger, has a full-size barrel region while maintaining an overall applicator length that is the same and/or slightly shorter than current known compact applicators. In a non-deployed configuration, the inner sleeve of the plunger is generally telescoped within the outer sleeve of the plunger, and the outer sleeve of the plunger is generally telescoped within the applicator barrel.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2020Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: Edgewell Personal Care Brands, LLCInventors: Sezen Buell, Joseph Fedora, James McCandless, Hassan Mohamed, Peter Preisner

Publication number: 20230279590Abstract: Nonwoven fabrics may be fashioned as topical delivery systems with increased and controllable rate of product release, while still possessing the requisite strength and durability for mass production and distribution. Such delivery systems comprise fabrics that are fashioned from micro-denier fibers that are produced by fibrillating bicomponent island-in-the-sea fibers. Facial masks made from these fabrics can achieve adequate product delivery in 3-5 minutes or less.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2022Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventors: Sezen Buell, Jill Marie Villacci, Sushil Iyer, Peter John Tsolis

Publication number: 20230041915Abstract: A nonwoven material formed of bicomponent fibers may be used as a cosmetic cushion to hold cosmetic compositions, such as liquid foundation, in a housing for consumer use with an applicator. The use of bicomponent fibers may allow for the utilization of various natural or synthetic materials for the core and shell which may be adjusted for greatest compatibility with cosmetic compositions. Bicomponent fibers forming nonwoven materials may be a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) core/polyethylene (PE) shell composition. This PET/PE composition may allow for maximum stability and chemical resistance in combination with aggressive chemical ingredients. Cosmetic cushions using these nonwoven materials may feel sensationally pleasing to the consumer and perform with the best quality throughout the lifetime of the product. The cosmetic cushion also may look aesthetically pleasing when filled or saturated with product.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2021Publication date: February 9, 2023Inventors: Olivia Holmes-Del Masto, Pamela Wong-Putnam, Sezen Buell

Patent number: 11135106Abstract: Disclosed is a tampon applicator package assembly having a tampon applicator and a cap having a closed end and an open end. The tampon applicator has a barrel for housing a pledget and a plunger. The plunger has an end portion that is a cap cover that connects to a remainder of the plunger and mates with the cap at the open end to provide a seal with the cap that completely encloses the tampon applicator in the cap. Also disclosed is an assembly having a tampon applicator, a cap having both a closed end and open end, and a cap cover for covering the open end of the cap. When the cap cover is placed on the open end, the open end is sealed and the tampon applicator is completely enclosed in the cap.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2018Date of Patent: October 5, 2021Assignee: EDGEWELL PERSONAL CARE BRANDS, LLCInventors: Sezen Buell, Richard Timmers, Pankaj Nigam, Ricardo de Oliveira, Scott Osiecki, Philip Burkhardt, Adeyinka Abdul
