  • Patent number: 11113748
Abstract: Systems and methods for ordering a transportation vehicle using near-field communication (NFC) are disclosed. A method includes receiving, by a first client computing device, data from a first NFC target device responsive to a first NFC device associated with the first client computing device being in physical proximity of the first NFC target device. The method further includes generating, based on the data, an order request for a transportation vehicle. Responsive to the order request not being placed and the first NFC device of the first client computing device being within a predetermined physical proximity of a second NFC device of a second client computing device, the method further includes causing information associated with the order request to be transmitted from the first client computing device to the second client computing device.

  • Patent number: 10755373
Abstract: Implementations of the disclosure describe searching and routing geographically-positioning entities via a graphical user interface (GUI). A method includes transmitting, via the communication session, a first packet comprising first data indicative of a geographic location of the client computing device, receiving a second packet comprising second data indicative of a locations of geographically-positioned entities, rendering, via a display device, a GUI comprising a map of a geographical area inclusive of the geographic location of the client computing device, transforming the first data into a first coordinate representative of the geographic location of the client computing device on the map, transforming the second data into other coordinates representative of the geographic locations of the geographically-positioned entities on the map, presenting, via the GUI, a first icon at the first coordinate on the map, and presenting, via the GUI, additional icons at the other coordinates on the map.

  • Patent number: 10424002
Abstract: Systems and methods for ordering a transportation vehicle using near-field communication (NFC) are disclosed. A method includes detecting that an NFC device of a client computing device is in physical proximity of a NFC target device. In response to the detecting, execution of a transportation application is initiated. Data is received from the NFC target device, and an order request is generated based on the transportation application and the received data.

  • Patent number: 9477983
Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) of an application is provided to a user. A user input indicating a request for a demonstration of an online transportation ordering process is received via the GUI. In response to the user input, the demonstration is presented to the user using the GUI. The demonstration includes obtaining the geographic location of the user, displaying the geographic location of the user on a map, and displaying a simulated movement of a transportation entity toward the geographic location of the user on the map. An additional GUI of the application may also be provided to the user. The additional GUI includes a map that indicates the location of the user and one or more transportation entities in the vicinity of the user. The application may accept user input selecting one of the transportation entities and the application may transmit a request for transportation to a server.
