    Abstract: The present invention includes a system and method for communicating across an electronic communication network. The present invention permits a user of the electronic communication network to communicate with one or more other users of the electronic communication network. The software employed in such a system and method permits a user to select one or more individuals to whom communication is desired and/or one or more terminals to which communication is desired, enter a message, and send the message. The recipient or recipients of the message are defined on the network and are selectable at the sender's terminal through a graphical user interface (GUI).
