Patent number: 11754301Abstract: Mist based humidification systems are employed in numerous environments. However, such systems are typically small portable units whilst it would be beneficial to employ ultrasonic based mist humidifiers in larger environments. However, these environments introduce additional requirements such as reducing the emission/distribution of condensed water as droplets from the humidifier, allowing independent placement of the mist generator from the mist distribution element(s), and the requirement to “throw” the mist a reasonable distance into the environment rather than relying upon the circulation within the environment to achieve distribution. Embodiments of the invention address these issues whilst also supporting modular humidification systems operating at multiple capacities.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2021Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: CONDAIR GROUP AGInventors: Shahram Lotfi, Tobias Franciscus Hendrikus Bakker

Patent number: 11428357Abstract: Steam cylinders for humidifies require periodic replacement as well as replacement to address failures etc. However, field replacement of steam cylinders is not a straight-forward operation and there is significant risk and potential for damage to the replacement cylinder and the humidifier as fluidic seals for the water inlet and steam outlet must be unmade as well as electrical connections for heater elements, level sensors etc. Accordingly, embodiments of the invention provide solutions for the deployment of replacement cylinders etc. for domestic, retail, and commercial systems that reduce the likelihood of damage to the fluidic seals, electrical connectors etc.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2020Date of Patent: August 30, 2022Assignee: Condair Ltd.Inventors: Shahram Lotfi, Dmitry Elman

Patent number: 10634372Abstract: A humidifier includes a burner for burning fuel within a water tank for generating steam, a primary heat exchanger within the water tank for transferring heat from products of combustion of the fuel to the water within the water tank, and a secondary heat exchanger. The secondary heat exchanger includes a combusted gas section for receiving the cooled products of combustion from the primary heat exchanger and a water section for transferring additional heat from the cooled products of combustion to water flowing within the secondary heat exchanger. The humidifier further includes a secondary fill valve which is pulsed to provide cool water for transferring additional heat from the cooled products of combustion to water flowing within the secondary heat exchanger. The water from a primary fill valve is fed directly into the water tank. An outlet of the secondary heat exchanger is fed directly into the water tank.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2017Date of Patent: April 28, 2020Assignee: Condair Group AGInventors: Scott Couperthwaite, Shahram Lotfi

Publication number: 20170356663Abstract: Today vaporizing humidifier must achieve their desired function and operate with conflicting requirements such as cost of ownership (CoO) and regulatory guidelines. Low CoO requires high injection efficiency, low water consumption, and high energy efficiency to reduce energy consumption and running costs. All of this is sought with variable humidification and low exhaust gas temperatures from safety/regulatory viewpoints as well as ducting material selection and venting of the exhaust gases and high efficiency. To date vaporizing humidifiers have been partially successful utilizing a single stage heat exchanger that could not extract latent energy from exhaust gases because the secondary fluid is boiling water. High exhaust temperature requires high temperature stainless steel exhaust venting.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2017Publication date: December 14, 2017Applicant: Condair Group AGInventors: Scott Couperthwaite, Shahram Lotfi
