  • Patent number: 11478545
Abstract: A wireless wideband transceiver may be able to communicate with multiple frequency-hopped spread-spectrum (FHSS) devices concurrently over multiple frequencies over a short range by including a plurality of digital chains corresponding to the FHSS physical channels, individually and dynamically compensated for in-phase/quadrature imbalance in the transmit and/or receive portion. To further improve communications the transceiver may also mitigate cross interference between adjacent channel signals that are received and/or transmitted simultaneously, avoid false reception and/or transmission of co-channel signals, delay respective FHSS channels transmissions relative to other channels transmissions, speed up connection to FHSS devices and coordinate Time Division Duplexing (TDD) operation according to application dependent TX/RX binary pattern.

  • Patent number: 10141974
Abstract: A frequency-hopped spread-spectrum multiple-access (FHSS-MA) wideband transceiver may support frequency-division multiple-access (FDMA) functionality by including a plurality of digital chains corresponding to FHSS-MA physical channels, individually and dynamically compensated for in-phase/quadrature imbalance in the transmit and/or receive portion. A FHSS-MA transceiver supporting FDMA functionality may coordinate FH sequence selection among FHSS physical channels to minimize inter-channel interference while also supporting legacy FHSS-enabled devices (e.g., Bluetooth®). The FHSS-MA transceiver may be incorporated into a wireless bridge device to facilitate low-latency communications over wireless local-area networks (WLANs), wireless wide-area networks (WWANs) or broadcast, with multiple FHSS-enabled devices that may be paired with the wireless bridge device using FHSS-MA channels. The wireless bridge device may enable a FHSS-enabled device to re-pair with a personal device.

  • Patent number: 7986676
Abstract: System, apparatus, and method to manage data communication rates in a wireless network are described. In an embodiment, a system may include multiple antennas, multiple transceivers to connect to the multiple antennas; and a media access controller to connect to the transceivers. The media access controller may send a first physical protocol data unit having a first number of media access control protocol data units using the transceivers. The media access controller may receive an acknowledgement message to indicate a second number of media access control protocol data units received from the first physical protocol data unit. The media access controller may select a third number of media access control protocol data units for a second physical protocol data unit using the second number.

  • Patent number: 7706376
Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for communicating over an extended range in a wireless network are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, a packet is generated to include an extended range header if the mobile station is identified as an extended range mobile station. The extended range header and a data portion of the packet have a lower data rate than packets for regular range mobile stations and are encoded to correspond to rates for un-encoded transmissions to the regular range mobile stations.

  • Patent number: 7664085
Abstract: Embodiments of methods for coordinating communications among wireless networks and a co-located wireless communication device are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, frame-timing parameters are reported by a broadband wireless access (BWA) network node to a node of a wireless local area network (WLAN), and the WLAN node may transmit the frame-timing parameters to an access point ad the WLAN. The BWA network node and the WLAN node may be co-located within the wireless communication device. The transmission time of downlink transmissions for receipt by the WLAN node may be selected by the access point based on the frame-timing parameters to reduce interference caused by concurrent uplink transmissions by the BWA network node.

  • Patent number: 7447979
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, apparatus and system for acquiring, by a communication device, an address sequence of an acquired packet transmitted over a communication channel and determining whether to receive the acquired packet. The method involves comparing the address sequence with one or more address sequences of previously-acquired packets stored in an address list. Then, if the address sequence does not appear in the address list, the address sequence is stored in the list. If the address sequence of the packet, match an address sequence stored in the address list, the packet is received and the and further checked to determine whether the address sequence of the packet is erroneous. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
