Abstract: A data recovery system for a telephonic device based on the formulation of a search query from a word or words recognized during a telephone conversation and the retrieval of a data item based on such search query. In one embodiment, the data recovery system includes (1) a speech recognition subsystem for recognizing at least one spoken word and formulating a search query while the telephonic device is in use; and (2) a search subsystem for using the search query to search available data and create a hyperlink to a data item.

Abstract: The present invention provides an image-location imprinter for use with a mobile electronic device. In one embodiment, the image-location imprinter includes a camera configured to create an image associated with a location of the mobile electronic device. Additionally, the image-location imprinter also includes a location designation unit coupled to the camera and configured to provide a location-imprinted image by attaching a designation of the location to the image. In another embodiment, the image-location imprinter further includes an image storage unit coupled to the location designation unit and configured to store the location-imprinted image.

Abstract: A mobile communication device and a method of memory management for the same. In one embodiment, the mobile communication device includes: (1) a camera, (2) a memory unit coupled to the camera and configured to store captured image data and (3) a transmitter coupled to the memory unit and configured to transmit captured image data via a wireless network to a receiving device, the mobile communication device configured to automatically adjust available storage space on the memory unit by transmitting selected digital image data stored in the memory unit to a receiving device and deleting the selected digital image data from the memory unit.

Abstract: Introduced is a method for enhancing the security of a handheld electronic device, in particular a mobile communication device. In one embodiment, the method includes (1) providing biometric reference data of an authorized user of functions of a handheld electronic device; (2) capturing the biometric user data of a party requesting access to functions of the handheld electronic device; and (3) comparing the biometric user data with the biometric reference data and determining whether the party is an authorized user.
