  • Patent number: 10330800
Abstract: An X-ray detector includes a direct-conversion converter element and an evaluating unit in a stacked arrangement. In an embodiment, the X-ray detector includes a voltage source, configured to provide a first potential and a second potential different from the first potential; a pulse generating unit for generating voltage pulses; and a connecting unit, for applying the voltage pulses onto the first potential, configured at the output to provide a pulsed potential. In an embodiment, through the application of the pulsed potential to a first surface of the direct-conversion converter element and through the application of the second potential to a second surface of the converter element opposed to the first surface, a pulsed potential difference is formed in the direct-conversion converter element.

  • Publication number: 20160231437
Abstract: A detector apparatus includes a number of detectors for assigned radiation sources of a computed tomography system, wherein each detector may require a constant input voltage in a range between 900 V and 1200 V. During operation of the detector apparatus, an auxiliary voltage is fed to a high voltage source to supply power to the input terminals on the number of detectors. The high voltage source includes a central first DC-DC converter, to which the auxiliary voltage is fed, and a number of second DC-DC converters arranged downstream of the first DC-DC converter. The first and the second DC-DC converter are based on different power supply topologies, wherein each second DC-DC converter generates the constant input voltage in the predetermined range from a central output voltage provided by the first DC-DC converter and supplies the constant input voltage to a corresponding detector.

  • Patent number: 9158005
Abstract: An X-ray detector is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the invention, the X-ray detector includes at least two adjacently arranged detector elements, to each of which a high voltage is applied in order to detect incident X-rays. In this case, two adjacent detector elements are coupled to one another by way of a protection circuit, designed to limit a voltage difference between the two adjacent detector elements to a voltage value which is non-critical with regard to the formation of a flashover between the two detector elements.
