  • Publication number: 20100229914
Abstract: Photovoltaic devices are disclosed that have built in shunt resistance. The devices comprise shunt isolation lines in the electrodes such that shunts will not degrade the efficiency of each individual unit cell. The device is easy to manufacture and the invention is suitable for use with most photovoltaic device architectures.

  • Publication number: 20050268959
Abstract: In one embodiment, a solar cell module comprises a plurality of solar cells interconnected as a solar cell array. An interconnect assembly electrically connects the backsides of two adjacent solar cells. The interconnect assembly may have an interconnect that electrically connects a contact point on a backside of a solar cell to a contact point on a backside of another solar cell. The interconnect assembly may further include an interconnect shield placed between the solar cells and the interconnect.

  • Publication number: 20050022857
Abstract: In one embodiment, backside-contact solar cells in a solar cell array are connected using separate pieces of interconnect leads. Each interconnect lead may electrically connect a contact point on a backside-contact solar cell to a corresponding contact on another backside-contact solar cell. Each interconnect lead may be curved to provide strain relief.
