  • Publication number: 20240102382
Abstract: A position sensor and a position sensor system, including a feeler, a force transfer element operably connected to the feeler, a force receiver operably connected to the force transfer element, and a force quantifier operably connected to the force receiver. A method for sensing position of a wet connector in a downhole environment, including running a position sensor on an upper wet connector to a target location, contacting a feeler block location on a lower wet connector, stroking the feeler, receiving a force at the force receiver, and communicating the received force to the force quantifier. A borehole system including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a position sensor disposed in the borehole.

  • Publication number: 20230105819
Abstract: A guide assembly including a guide nose, a body supporting the guide nose, and a torque limiter having a configuration to connect the guide nose and the body to a separate structure. A method for negotiating a restriction in a borehole including running a guide assembly into the borehole, encountering a restriction with the guide nose, limiting torque on the guide nose while encountering the restriction, longitudinally unloading the guide nose, incrementing an incrementing feature of the guide assembly to thereby rotate the guide nose. A wellbore system including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, a guide assembly disposed within or as a part of the string.

  • Patent number: 11555359
Abstract: A tapered nose tool includes a housing, a retrievable tapered nose disposed in the housing and retrievable from the housing, and a mechanically shiftable sleeve. The mechanically shiftable sleeve is shiftable with a shifting profile disposed in the housing. The sleeve anchors the nose in the housing in a first position and releases the nose from the housing in a second position.

  • Publication number: 20040264661
Abstract: An emergency alert notification system and method are provided by which a subscriber's previously-identified contact persons may be notified upon the happening of an event. A witness, who may be a stranger to the event, initiates the notification process by contacting a service provider using a phone number and subscriber ID number that has been displayed by the subscriber in strategic locations such as an auto windshield, on the exterior of a home or office, or on a key ring. The witness need know no private or sensitive personal information about the subscriber in order to initiate the notification, and receives no such information as a result of the notification process. With the subscriber's ID number, the service provider retrieves associated contact information and provides notification.
