  • Patent number: 10342872
Abstract: A method of inducing hair growth by topical administration of minoxidil is described, including topically applying minoxidil to a skin region susceptible to induction of hair growth, wherein the applied minoxidil is administered to the skin region (i) in a formulation comprising a release composition that mediates a dermal flux of minoxidil of at least 1.5 ?g minoxidil/cm2 skin area/hour for a time of from 17 to 27 hours, at an applied dose of from 2 to 20 mg minoxidil to said skin region, and with a period of from 16 to 30 hours before any subsequent reapplication of the formulation, or (ii) subsequent to administration to the skin region of said release composition so that the sequentially applied minoxidil and release composition together mediate the dermal flux of minoxidil of at least 1.

  • Publication number: 20140296946
Abstract: A headgear lasing system, including: a power supply; a laser device coupled in power receiving relationship to the power supply, and configured for generating laser radiation effective to promote growth of head hair; a multiplicity of optical fibers coupled with the laser device to receive the laser radiation for transmission thereof through the optical fibers to respective end portions thereof; and a support that is configured to overlie a head region, and to which the end portions of the optical fibers are secured so that the laser radiation transmitted through the optical fibers is directed therefrom to the head region. The support may be a separate structural component that is secured to an existing headgear article, or the support may be a constituent part of a headgear article, such as a crown portion of a cap or hat article. The headgear lasing system is usefully employed to impinge lasing radiation on a scalp region of a wearer, to mediate hair growth on such scalp region.

  • Patent number: 8444960
Abstract: A topical administration carrier composition including water, glycerin and polysorbate, suitable for use in formulations with active ingredient compositions containing active ingredients such as minoxidil that are susceptible to systemic penetration, and solvents that are susceptible to evaporative loss, when the active ingredient composition is topically applied to the body. The carrier formulation retards the evaporative losses of the solvent component(s) and systemic migration losses of the active ingredient composition, to provide sustained topical action, in relation to formulations lacking the carrier composition of the invention.

  • Patent number: 5749564
Abstract: A device for removing staples from papers, cloth, or other material without tearing or mutilating the material. The device utilizes a heel of palm to finger gripping action to facilitate a more natural action for removing staples. Staples are extracted by way of a jaw which opposes a wedge-shaped piece to an abutting plate piece, which straightens the staple while simultaneously pulling it out of the paper in a perpendicular direction. The wedge-shaped piece includes a portion where its width and thickness increase to dimensions wherein the sum of the width plus twice the thickness exceeds the total length of the three sides of the staples being removed, thus facilitating complete extraction.
