  • Patent number: 11959308
Abstract: According to some exemplary embodiments described herein, a door lock may include a driveshaft operatively couplable to a bolt configured to move between an extended position and a retracted position to selective secure an associated door. The door lock may also include a transmission coupled to the driveshaft, where the driveshaft includes at least one gear configured to rotate with the driveshaft. The door lock may also include a magnetic encoder coupled to the transmission and configured to measure a position of the at least one gear. The magnetic encoder may include a diametrically polarized magnet coupled to the at least one gear.

  • Patent number: 11527121
Abstract: An intelligent door lock system is coupled to a door at a dwelling. A first sensor is at the dwelling. The first sensor is coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device to assist in locking and unlocking a lock of a lock device at a door. The lock device is coupled to the first sensor and the lock device includes a bolt. An engine, an energy source and a memory are coupled together. A magnetic sensor provides a reading or measurement used to determine a door open or closed status.

  • Publication number: 20220101672
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method of determining whether a door is ajar may include determining an orientation of a door lock of the door, and, based on the orientation of the door lock, analyzing at least one signal from at least one of two or more proximity sensors of the door lock. The method may further include determining whether the door is ajar based at least in part on a result of the analyzing of the at least one signal. In some embodiments, a method of determining a status of a door may include receiving a first signal from a first magnetometer disposed within a door lock of the door, receiving a second signal from a second magnetometer disposed within the door lock of the door, and detecting, based on a result of an evaluation of both the first signal and the second signal, a possible attack on the door.

  • Publication number: 20220082141
Abstract: In some embodiments, a clutch for a door lock may include an output gear including a plurality of inner detents and a lag plate rotatable relative to the output gear and configured to generate friction when the lag plate rotates. The clutch may also include an input cam configured to be coupled to an output shaft of an actuator, where the input cam is configured to switch between an engaged state and a disengaged state. The clutch may also include a ball bearing configured to engage one of the plurality of inner detents when the input cam is in the engaged state. The ball bearing may also be configured to disengage from the plurality of inner detents under frictional force generated by the lag plate when the input cam is in the disengaged state and the output gear is rotated by an external force.
