Abstract: Methods and apparatus to optimize workflow execution by the intelligent dispatching of workflow tasks against a grid computing system or infrastructure are provided. For some embodiments, a grid task dispatcher may be configured to dispatch tasks in a manner that takes into account information about an entire workflow, rather than just an individual task. Utilizing information about the tasks (task metadata), such a workflow-scoped task dispatcher may more optimally assign work to compute resources available on the grid, leading to a decrease in workflow execution time and more efficient use of grid computing resources.

Abstract: A method, system and article of manufacture for processing queries that are executed against a database. In one embodiment, the database environment imposes a limit on the number of columns capable of being returned for a single query. Accordingly, a single query is replicated to produce N sub-queries, each selecting a portion of the total number of result fields specified in the single query.

Abstract: A method, system and article of manufacture for creating queries and, more particularly, for creating queries using query conditions from previously defined queries. One embodiment provides a method for composing a query. The method comprises displaying at least a first query object representative of a first query and a second query object representative of a second query in a user interface. Each of the query objects is positionally related to define a plurality of user-selectable regions. Each region corresponds to a different executable query.

Abstract: Methods, computers and articles of manufacture for testing and validating user interface content. Documents can be tested for both structure and content. In one embodiment, documents are parsed and compared to determine whether the documents are at least structurally equivalent. Parsed documents may also be compared to determine whether the documents are content the equivalent. In another embodiment, one or more test expressions are executed against one or more of the documents being compared.

Abstract: Methods, systems and articles of manufacture for managing parameterized queries and making them available to users based on associations between parameterized queries and fields belonging to result sets are provided. By associating fields with parameterized queries, a query manager can be configured to provide users with a contextually appropriate selection of parameterized queries that can be used to obtain data related to objects in a result set. The selection of parameterized queries may be provided to users via a variety of interfaces including graphic interfaces and plug-in components utilized by external applications.

Abstract: Methods, systems and articles of manufacture for controlling accessibility to application functions and for configuring user interfaces to restrict access to available application functions. In one embodiment, a request is received for a web page comprising displayable content including user-selectable elements through which a user invokes one or more executable functions. The web page is provided the displayable content and then parsed to identify the user-selectable elements. At least portion of the user-selectable elements are disabled on the basis of a pre-defined transform definition to produce a re-configured web page. The re-configured web page is then returned for display.

Abstract: Method, system and article of manufacture for scheduling queries. In particular, the scheduling options made available to a user for a particular unit of work are determined dynamically at the time of scheduling. In this way, the execution cost, for example, of a particular unit of work can be taken into account when determining which scheduling options to make available. In addition, or alternatively, system availability and/or user parameters may be accounted for when determining which scheduling options to make available.
