  • Patent number: 11234373
Abstract: An agricultural vehicle crop feeder system having housings defining a crop passage, a conveyor assembly, a rotor, a guide plate, and one or more guide vanes extending from the guide plate. The conveyor assembly propels crop material along a feeder flow direction to the rotor. The rotor has inlet vanes that receive the crop material in a receiving region located below the rotor's axis. The leading edges of the rotor inlet vanes travel towards the receiving region on a first transverse side of the rotor axis and away from the receiving region on a second transverse side of the rotor axis. The guide plate is adjacent the receiving region. The guide vane extends into the crop passage on the first side of the rotor axis, and angled relative to the flow direction with its trailing edge closer to the first rotor axis, in the transverse direction, than the leading edge.

  • Patent number: 10225991
Abstract: An agricultural baler includes a needle disposed within a baling chamber. The needle transfers a strap to a gripping device. A needle gripper is disposed on a distal end of the needle and configured to selectively secure the strap to the needle. The needle gripper includes a thumb gripper rotatably mounted to a wall of the needle gripper. The thumb gripper rotates between a first position configured to secure the strap against a surface of the needle and a second position configured to release the strap from the needle. The needle gripper includes a release arm coupled to the thumb gripper and configured to rotate the thumb gripper from the first position to the second position in response to rotation of the release arm about a release arm axis from a neutral position to a first release position.

  • Patent number: 10085384
Abstract: An agricultural baler includes a baling chamber configured to receive a compressible material and a track positioned about at least a portion of the baling chamber. The track is configured to receive a strap and to guide the strap around the portion of the baling chamber. The agricultural baler also includes a sealing assembly positioned adjacent to a first side of the baling chamber and configured to receive the strap and to seal the strap into a loop around the compressible material to form a strapped bale. The sealing assembly is configured to move relative to the baling chamber as the sealing assembly seals the strap into the loop around the compressible material as the compressible material moves toward an outlet at a second end of the baling chamber.

  • Patent number: 10051793
Abstract: A strapping system for an agricultural implement includes a strap feeding assembly positioned on a first side of a baling chamber and a needle positioned on a second side of the baling chamber, opposite the first side. The system also includes a first slot disposed within a first material-facing surface of a rear wall of the baling chamber. The strap feeding assembly is configured to propel a strap through at least a portion of the first slot to the second side of the baling chamber, and the needle is configured to grip a portion of the strap and to move the portion of the strap from the second side of the baling chamber to the first side of the baling chamber to surround a material within the baling chamber with the strap.

  • Patent number: 9936645
Abstract: An agricultural baler having a baling chamber is provided. The baling chamber includes a first wall and a second wall opposing the first wall. The first wall and the second wall extend longitudinally between a first end and a second end of the baling chamber, and the second wall forms a bottom surface of the baling chamber. The baler also includes a hinge disposed proximate to the first end of the baling chamber. The hinge is coupled to the second wall, and the second wall is configured to rotate about the hinge from a first position in which the second wall supports a bale within the baling chamber to a second position that enables the bale to move out of the baling chamber.

  • Patent number: 9706711
Abstract: A method of harvesting an agricultural product includes guiding the agricultural product through a plurality of inlets in a first direction with a plurality of airflows, separating the agricultural product from the first plurality of airflows, directing the agricultural product to a cross-conveyor, conveying the agricultural product through the cross-conveyor from the plurality of inlets to an outlet in a second direction, and guiding the agricultural product through the outlet in a third direction with a second airflow. The first direction is substantially parallel to a travel direction, the second direction is crosswise to the first direction, and the third direction is substantially parallel to the travel direction. The agricultural product is conveyed through the cross-conveyor substantially without the first plurality of airflows, and the second airflow includes the first plurality of airflows.
