  • Publication number: 20230358354
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for tapping and reinforcing a valve of a liner lined host pipe with a fitting device assembly that includes a service sleeve having a flange, a cylindrical body, and an engaging end and a reinforcing sleeve having a flange, a cylindrical body, an engaging end having at least one annular ratchets configured to engage with the engaging end of the service sleeve in order to secure the service sleeve and the reinforcing sleeve together, and a plurality of cutouts in the cylindrical body. A cork assembly that includes the service sleeve and a cork having at least one radial appendage is inserted into the valve, then the host pipe is lined with a liner. The cork assembly is the located, and the cork is removed from the cork assembly. The reinforcing sleeve is then installed into the service sleeve in the valve.

  • Patent number: 11130885
Abstract: A patch is provided and described that can be used with the installation of a cured-in-place structural liner in a conduit when the conduit has protrusions into the conduit. The patch is made with similar material to the liner, or felt, and is impregnated with epoxy. The patch may be shaped to more closely match the anticipated curve of the outer surface of the liner. Tools for the installation of the patches, a method of use, and tools for measuring the quality of the installation of the patch before the installation of the structural liner, are also described.

  • Publication number: 20200263822
Abstract: A service reinforcement sleeve is disclosed with a flange and a tubular section that can be used, with epoxy, to bind a service to a structural liner such as a cured-in-pipe structural liner. This sleeve has flexible tabs with lips (defined by cutouts) on the end of the tubular section opposite the flange. This sleeve can accommodate encrustation in the service, particularly when it is located away from the bottom of the service. A method of bonding a service and structural liner using this sleeve and epoxy is also disclosed that uses a metal brush or similar device to create a seat in the liner and abrade the lower portion of the service before insertion of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 10012339
Abstract: A system for removing structural liners (whether cured-in-place liners or cement-mortar liners) from a dry conduit is disclosed. The system uses a set of cutters of progressively larger diameters, front and rear supports designed for this purpose, and a drive means for driving the system down the conduit where the structural liner is to be removed.

  • Publication number: 20120257042
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for scanning, mapping and measuring conduits. The system includes a data collection subsystem having a carriage assembly sized to fit within a conduit for travel therethrough and equipment module supported on the carriage assembly. The equipment module includes a housing, a video capture system and a lighting assembly accommodated within the housing, and a laser beam emitting and diffusion assembly attached to the housing forwardly of the video capture system. The laser beam emitting and diffusion assembly is operable to emit a laser beam and diffuse the laser beam along a plane P substantially perpendicular to the laser beam so as to trace a visible light contour where the plane P intersects the inner surface of the conduit. The laser beam is a light of a first colour. The video capture system is operable to record images of the conduit and the visible light contour generated by the laser beam emitting and diffusion assembly.

  • Patent number: 8272406
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of structural pipe lining for conduit rehabilitation and more specifically, to methods for rehabilitating conduits using structural liners. There is provided a method for rehabilitating a tubular conduit having an inner conduit space and at least one service connection tied into the tubular conduit. A portion of the at least one service connection protrudes into the inner conduit space. A liner is provided for covering the inner surface of the tubular conduit. The liner is made of a flexible material capable of being impregnated with a first curable adhesive resin and has a film made of a material impermeable to liquid bonded onto the inner surface of the liner. Also provided, is a flexible sealing member made of a second curable adhesive resin.
