  • Patent number: 10788280
Abstract: A follower for an ammunition magazine comprises an elongated platform which has a spring anchor extending from an underside surface of the platform. The spring anchor comprises a hook-like appendage which defines a central transverse slot which leads to a catch portion from a restricted access portion. An opening is defined in the platform in general longitudinal alignment with a portion of the spring anchor. The follower spring has a mounting end portion. The follower spring passes through the access slot and is received in the catch for assembly to the platform.

  • Patent number: 10743747
Abstract: An articulation joint manufacturing process comprises cutting an elongated tube to form a multiplicity of links wherein adjacent links are connected by a bridge. The method comprises forming a fracturable portion on each bridge and connecting a multiplicity of springs to adjacentts links to form a workpiece. The method further comprises applying a torsional force to the workpiece about its longitudinal axis to fracture each bridge to form an articulation joint comprising a series of links wherein adjacent links are connected by at least one spring. Certain steps are formed by a laser. In one method, the springs are positioned on a mandrel and the springs are welded to the workpiece. The fracturable portion on the bridges may be produced by forming an indentation which may be a score, a perforation, an elongated indentation or an oval shaped indentation.

  • Patent number: 8225541
Abstract: A magazine for a firearm is provided. The magazine includes a magazine box, a base removably coupled to the magazine box and a follower disposed in the magazine box. A spring is coupled to said follower to bias ammunition cartridges towards a firearm receiver. The base includes at least one opening sized to receive an arm on said follower when the magazine is loaded with ammunition cartridges. The distance between the bottom of the follower and top of the base may be arranged to be less than the diameter of an ammunition cartridge when the magazine contains a predetermined number of rounds.

  • Patent number: 6478001
Abstract: A cam follower having a clamp disposed on at least one end thereof. The follower includes two opposing sidewalls interconnected by a lower pallet. A roller is rotatably mounted to and disposed between the sidewalls via needled or journal bearings or other rotatable connection known in the art. A clamp is disposed about an end of the follower to induce compression force in the pallet and possibly act as the valve guide walls. The clamp increases the stiffness of the follower and induces compressive stress in the pallet area thereby increasing fatigue life. The clamp could also increase the length of the valve guide walls for better stability during engine assembly.
