  • Publication number: 20210387867
Abstract: A thin film, direct convection, evaporative process and apparatus for treating waste water on-site at a production area or waste water processing area relies on direct exposure of waste water to an open flame in an evaporation chamber, despite the waste water containing volatile substances, resulting in up to 99% reduction of total flow rate of waste water, and creating steam capable of being introduced safely to the environment.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 31, 2021
    Publication date: December 16, 2021
    Applicant: AbTech Industries, Inc.
Inventors: Shawn M. Lolling, Jonathan C. Warner
  • Patent number: 11124430
Abstract: A thin film, direct convection, evaporative apparatus, such as for treating waste water on-site at a production area or waste water processing area, relies on direct exposure of fluid to an open flame in a substantially enclosed burner unit having a burn chamber fed by an air-fuel mixing chamber and a fluid chamber, which apparatus also has gas and air trains and a metered fluid train permitting controlled fluid flow rate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 19, 2019
Date of Patent: September 21, 2021
    Assignee: AbTech Industries, Inc.
Inventors: Shawn M Lolling, Jonathan C Warner
  • Patent number: 11124432
Abstract: Material compositions have multifunctionality in abatement of water pollution: They are capable of removing hydrocarbons along with various types of other pollutants, such as metals and metal oxides, and phosphates and other organic material, from water streams. In certain embodiments, the multifunctional compositions are comprised of biochar particles, activated carbon particles, or metal (or metal oxide) nanoparticles bound to a cellulosic or other organic matrix material, which are adhered to styrene-butadiene-styrene granules embedded in an M-Class rubber matrix. Methods of synthesis of the multifunctional compositions and products, including filter cartridges and filters, that use such compositions are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 9, 2019
Date of Patent: September 21, 2021
    Assignee: AbTech Industries, Inc.
Inventors: Shawn M Lolling, Bruce R Gan
