  • Patent number: 8157126
Abstract: The present invention discloses a probe cover dispenser, which comprises a base having a probe cover basin; a probe cover cartridge receiving probe covers; a gravitational member applying gravity to the probe covers; and a feeder assembly arranged between the base and the probe cover cartridge. The gravitational member makes a probe cover fall from the probe cover cartridge onto the base, and a feeder pushes the gravitationally released probe cover to the probe cover basin. Then, the user inserts a probe of an infrared thermometer into the probe cover inside the probe cover basin to sleeve the probe with the probe cover. Via the present invention, the user can fit a probe cover onto a probe without using his hands. Thus, the present invention can effectively reduce the pollution of probe covers and the infection of testees.

  • Publication number: 20110120554
Abstract: An anti-reflection coating has an average total reflectance of less than 10%, for example less than 5.9% such as from 4.9% to 5.9%, over a spectrum of wavelengths of 400-1100 nm and a range of angles of incidence of 0-90 degrees with respect to a surface normal of the anti-reflection coating. An anti-reflection coating has a total reflectance of less than 10%, for example less than 6% such as less than 4%, over an entire spectrum of wavelengths of 400-1600 nm and an entire range of angles of incidence of 0-70 degrees with respect to a surface normal of the anti-reflection coating.

  • Patent number: 7810299
Abstract: A floor tile for a raised floor. The floor tile is defined by a shallow upwardly-opening metal pan defining a shallow compartment in which a main preformed one-piece concrete block is secured. The main concrete block is preferably formed from a plurality of one-piece preformed concrete sub-blocks which are adhesively adhered in sideward abutting relationship to define a plan profile corresponding to the main concrete block. The main concrete block is then adhesively secured within the compartment of the metal pan.

  • Patent number: 7614350
Abstract: An elongate horizontally-oriented shelf unit which is preferably constructed as a monolithic one-piece member, and is provided with a groove which opens upwardly from a bottom surface thereof and which extends lengthwise of the shelf for accommodating a detachable electrical accessory at any location therealong for downward suspension from the shelf. The groove has a pair of low-voltage conductors embedded in the opposite side walls thereof to extend lengthwise of the groove, and accessible from the interior of the groove to provide electrical contact with an accessory which is inserted into the groove and moved into contact with the conductors. The conductors at one end of the groove, or at one end of a plurality of shelf units which are serially connected together, are joined to a suitable flexible electrical connector which joins to a conventional transformer plug for engagement with a conventional electrical outlet.

  • Publication number: 20090126783
Abstract: An optical absorber includes vertically aligned carbon nanotubes with an ultra-low reflectance less than 0.16% and an absorption efficiency greater than 99.84%. The index of refraction and the absorption constant are controlled by independently varying the nanotube diameter and nanotube spacing. The nanotubes are mostly double-walled. The density of the nanotube arrays is very low, around 0.015 g/cm3.

  • Publication number: 20070133519
Abstract: A user of a telecommunications device (102), such as a wireless terminal, or the like, selects certain actions that should be taken when a circuit call is received while a packet data session is active (200). These actions include interrupting the packet data session, or not interrupting the packet data session, which may be determined based on stored options specific to the subscriber and/or a query to the subscriber device (216). When a switching system detects that a subscriber device has an incoming circuit call during an active packet data session, the switching system queries a subscriber database and determines the appropriate action to take (210, 212, 214). The appropriate action is based on, for example, the calling number, time of day, date, duration of the packet data session, an instantaneous or simultaneous query to the subscriber device or a type of packet data session that is active.

  • Publication number: 20070125016
Abstract: An upright space-dividing wall panel with a rigid interior frame, and a cover attached to the frame for covering the interior thereof. The frame includes a first pair of horizontal rails defining top and bottom sides, and a second pair of upright rails defining right and left sides. Corner members are disposed at the frame corners, with each corner member being rigidly joined between adjacent ends of the horizontal and upright rails. The corner member is a one-piece L-shaped member having a box-shaped corner block and horizontal and vertical leg parts cantilevered outwardly from respective transverse side faces of the corner block. Each side face defines a shoulder which surrounds the respective leg part. The leg parts are each telescoped into one end of a respective rail with a fixed engagement so that the rail abuts the respective shoulder.

  • Patent number: 7079309
Abstract: An optical amplifier having a uniform gain profile uses a photonic crystal to tune the density-of-states of a gain medium so as to modify the light emission rate between atomic states. The density-of-states of the gain medium is tuned by selecting the size, shape, dielectric constant, and spacing of a plurality of microcavity defects in the photonic crystal. The optical amplifier is particularly useful for the regeneration of DWDM signals in long optical fibers.

  • Patent number: 7055287
Abstract: This invention relates to a space-dividing wall panel system having a plurality of base panels which are serially connectable one with the other to define a vertically enlarged wall supported on a floor. Each base panel is defined by at least one horizontal box-beam rigidly connected to a pair of laterally spaced apart vertical uprights which are connected at the opposite ends of the box-beam and have a reduced thickness compared thereto. With this clearance between the faces of the box-beam and the uprights, the box-beam, cross rails at the ends of the uprights as well as additional extension panels are formed with longitudinally extending channels which are positioned free of interference with the vertical uprights and aligned with serially-adjacent channels of serially-adjacent wall panels.
