  • Patent number: 9992579
Abstract: An integrated armature and yoke for an acoustic receiver is disclosed. The armature includes a generally u-shaped member having a first portion arranged substantially parallel to a second deflecting portion. The yoke includes a central portion connected to the first portion, and first and second wall portions extending from opposite sides of the central portion toward the second deflecting portion. In a receiver, the second portion of the integrated armature and yoke is disposed through a receiver coil and extends into a space between permanent magnets, wherein an excitation signal applied to the coil causes the second deflecting portion of the armature to deflect between the magnets and to drive an acoustic sound generating diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 9485585
Abstract: A motor includes an armature, a coil, and a magnetic support structure. The motor also includes at least one magnet that defines a space. The coil forms a tunnel. The space is defined by the at least one magnet being aligned with the tunnel formed by the coil. Portions of the armature extend through the space and the tunnel. An opening at an end of the coil is shaped so as to restrict movement of the armature.

  • Publication number: 20160044420
Abstract: A dual receiver includes a housing; a first armature, a second armature, a single coil, at least one magnet, a first diaphragm, a second diaphragm. The first armature is disposed in the housing and includes a first moving portion and a first non-moving portion. The second armature is disposed in the housing and includes a second moving portion and a second non-moving portion. The single coil extends around the first non-moving portion of the first armature and the second non-moving portion of the second armature. The at least one magnet is disposed about the housing. A first diaphragm is coupled to the first armature and a second diaphragm coupled to the second armature. Current excites the coil and responsively with the at least one magnet creates a magnetic flux that moves the first diaphragm to create a first sound and moves the second diaphragm to create a second sound.

  • Publication number: 20150373456
Abstract: A diaphragm assembly disposed in a receiver and includes a support structure. The support structure is generally rectangular and has a length that extends along a longitudinal axis. The support structure has a width that is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The length is greater than the width. The assembly includes a paddle and a membrane, and the membrane extends over and being supported by the support structure and paddle. A gap is disposed between the paddle and the support structure. A plurality of tabs extend across the gap and connecting the paddle and support structure. The tabs are located along the length of the support structure and extend outward from the longitudinal axis across the gap. The tabs move in a twisting motion and not bending motion as the paddle moves.
