  • Patent number: 5384620
Abstract: A system for providing a memory for storing page mode parameters and a controller for providing images in optional page modes for producing a set of images with discrete elements of the set of images processed in a selected page mode independent of the page mode of other elements. This is accomplished by identifying elements of the set of images with page mode parameters and responding to the page mode parameters to alter the operation of the machine dependent upon the identified page mode parameters.

  • Patent number: 5343275
Abstract: A technique for concurrently operating an image processing apparatus in a quality adjustment mode wherein image processing components for forming images on a medium are periodically diagnosed and in a operator interaction mode wherein an operator interface including a touch screen with soft buttons connected to a controller is selectively engaged including the steps of monitoring the operation of the image processing components relative to image quality standards, initiating a quality adjustment of the image processing apparatus in response to said standards, and simultaneously interacting with the operator interface to input programming data to the controller.

  • Patent number: 5305058
Abstract: A technique for selectively adjusting the quality of an image processing apparatus in relation to deviations from image quality standards including the steps of recognizing a deviation of the image processing apparatus from the image quality standards, responding to the state of deviation from the image quality standards by providing a plurality of time delays for adjusting the quality of the image processing apparatus, the time delays include automatically adjusting the quality of the image processing during a current job run, automatically adjusting the quality of the image processing apparatus upon completion of a current job run, and automatically adjusting the quality of the image processing apparatus upon a predetermined time delay after completion of a current job.

    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: Shelly D. Sulenski, Fritz Ebner
  • Patent number: 5229815
Abstract: A method of restarting an image quality adjustment process including the steps of initiating an image quality adjustment process, monitoring machine events during the image quality adjustment process, suspending operation of the quality adjustment process due to the occurrence of a predetermined machine event, and automatically resuming the quality adjustment process in response to the elimination of the predetermined machine event at the point of the process wherein the predetermined machine event ocurred.
