Abstract: The present application discloses a shielding plate, a terminal module, a high-speed backplane connector, and a connector system. The shielding plate is provided with an ingenious grounding structure, such as alternately arranged concave strips and convex strips, and has a good grounding function. The high-speed backplane connector provided in the present application includes a plurality of terminal modules and an insulative shell for receiving the terminal modules. Each terminal module includes a plurality of pairs of differential signal terminals arranged in a terminal row, a plurality of conductive spacers arranged in the terminal row at intervals, and a shielding plate; the shielding plate is fixed on one side of a fixing frame and connected with the conductive spacers; the pair of differential signal terminals can be shielded by arranging the concave strips and the convex strips, effectively reducing interference and crosstalk between the adjacent pairs of differential signal terminals.

Abstract: An electrical connector (1) comprises an elongate insulative housing (3) including a projection (30) projecting forwardly from the insulative housing, a plurality of terminals (52) received in grooves (300) defined in the elongate housing, a conductive shell (2) covering the projection of the insulative housing, and a conductive pick-up cover (6) engaging with a top of the insulative housing. A rivet (8) is used to secure a board lock (7) to the housing. The board lock has a leg (73) for insertion into a printed circuit board thereby securing the connector to the printed circuit board. The top of the insulative housing defines at least a positioning hole (32) with an inclined face (35). The pick-up cover includes a flat plate (60) with a pair of latches (62) extending downward for mounting on the top of the insulative housing and at least a positioning ridge also extending downward from the pick-up cover for engaging with the at least one positioning hole of the insulative housing.

Abstract: An insert module for an electrical connector includes a spacer and contacts loaded therein. Clearance holes are defined through the spacer and horizontal holes are defined in a front end portion of the spacer in communication with the clearance holes. Receiving holes are defined in a bottom surface of the spacer in communication with the clearance holes and the horizontal holes. A contact in an initial straight shape is inserted into and through the horizontal hole for being upwardly and downwardly bent to respectively form a slanted spring contact portion and a right-angle bent tail portion received in the receiving hole. The clearance holes facilitate the downward bending of the contacts.
