Abstract: A modular jack includes an insulative housing, a set of central shields, and a set of insert modules. The modular jack defines a mounting port. Each insert module includes a printed circuit broad assembly (PCBA) disposed horizontally in the mounting port and a terminal module located below the PCBA. The terminal module has a set of first terminals, a set of second terminals, and an insulative carrier holding the first and second terminals. Each central shield is disposed between two adjacent insert modules and mounted to the insulative housing. The central shield has a metal wafer and an insulative body for holding the metal wafer. The insulative body includes a pressing face extending along a front-to-back direction and the insulative carrier has a receiving pressure face extending along the front-to-back direction. Each terminal has a mounting portion for electrically and mechanically engaged with an exterior PCB.

The insulative housing defines a lower port, an upper port stacked on the lower port, and a mounting port located behind the lower and upper ports. Each of the lower and upper ports is used for mating with a modular plug connector. The insert module comprises a printed circuit broad assembly (PCBA) disposed horizontally in the mounting port and a terminal module located below the PCBA. The PCBA includes a top face, a bottom face, a set of upper contacts each having an upper contacting portion extending in the upper port, a set of lower contacts each having a lower contacting portion extending in the lower port, and a plurality of isolation transformers mounted on the top and bottom faces.

Abstract: A modular jack includes an insulative housing, a lower PCB (printed circuit board), an upper PCB, a set of lower contacts mounted on the lower PCB, a set of upper contacts mounted on the upper PCB, and a terminal module located below the lower PCB. The terminal module has a set first terminals electrically connected to the upper contacts through the upper PCB, a set of second terminals electrically connected to the lower contacts through the lower PCB, and a metal shielding plate disposed between the first and second terminals. The lower PCB has a first edge with a lower cutout recessed therefrom and the upper PCB has a second edge with an upper cutout recessed therefrom. The metal shielding plate has a top inserting section inserted in the lower and upper cutouts and soldered to the upper and lower PCBs only in one soldering process.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a lower inserting port, an upper inserting port stacked thereon, and a mounting port located behind the lower and upper inserting ports. The inserting module is assembled from the mounting port to the inserting ports. The inserting module comprises a set of upper mating contacts each having a contacting portion extending into the upper inserting port, a set of lower mating contacts each having a contacting portion extending into the lower inserting port, a first magnetic module received in the mounting port and electrically connecting with the upper mating contacts, a second magnetic module received in the mounting port and electrically connecting with the lower mating contacts, and a conductive shielding member disposed between the first and second magnetic modules for shielding electromagnetic interference (EMI) therebetween. The conductive shielding member is a flexible member and connecting with the PCBs through pressing.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes: a shielding shell; an insulative housing received in the shielding shell, the insulative housing having two rows of mating ports in a vertical direction and a receiving slot between the two rows of mating ports; a contact module mounted in the insulative housing, the contact modules comprising an inner circuit board and a plurality of mating contacts mounted on an upper surface and a lower surface of the inner circuit board, the inner circuit board comprising a conductive area at a front end thereof; and a conductive foam received in the receiving slot and compressed between the conductive area of the inner circuit board and the shielding shell.
