Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a data processing method and apparatus. The method includes: parsing, by a user plane data processing network element, a received packet and determining first service type information of a data flow to which the packet belongs; obtaining, by the user plane data processing network element, second service type information of the data flow from a data analysis network element; and processing, by the user plane data processing network element, the data flow based on the first service type information and the second service type information. With the data processing method and apparatus disclosed herein, accuracy in identifying a service type of transmitted data can be improved.

Abstract: A communication method in which access network devices belonging to a same network instance have different network addresses, where the method includes uniquely identifying an access network device based on a network address of the access network device and a first network instance identifier to which the access network device belongs, and determining a packet forwarding rule for sending a packet to the access network device. In this way, the packet can be accurately routed.

The user lane function node can then perform rule matching on the first data packet to obtain a first predefined rule. In response to determining that no quality of service (QoS) flow meets the first predefined rule, the user lane function node can then send a first message to a session management function node, where the first message includes information about the first predefined rule. The user lane function node can then receive rule update information sent by the session management function node, where the rule update information includes an identifier of a first QoS flow, and where the first QoS flow meets the first predefined rule.

The traffic processing method can accurately identify abnormal traffic and improve traffic management. The traffic processing method includes receiving, by a user plane function network element, hotspot indication information from a terminal device, where the hotspot indication information includes that a hotspot switch is enabled.
