  • Patent number: 6219917
Abstract: A method of assembling a gas supply device within an appliance cabinet is disclosed. The method comprises bending a tube assembly prior to installation in the appliance, attaching a fitting to the first end of the tube, attaching the fitting of the first end of the tube to a burner assembly, attaching a second fitting having a non-circular portion to the second end of the tube, attaching a mounting bracket with a non-circular profile to the non-circular portion of the second fitting in a fixed condition to prevent rotation of the body with respect to the bracket, and mounting the tube assembly in the appliance cabinet.

  • Patent number: 6030003
Abstract: A gas supply assembly having a tube with a first end and a second end. The first end is provided with a burner fitting and the second end is provided with an inlet fitting, the inlet fitting having an inlet fitting shape. The assembly also has a mounting bracket defining a bracket opening for receiving the inlet fitting. The bracket opening has a bracket opening shape complementary to that of the inlet fitting shape so that the mounting bracket and the inlet fitting cooperate to substantially prohibit rotation of the tube. The present invention also provides a method of assembling an appliance incorporating the gas supply assembly, where the gas supply assembly is attached to a burner assembly before these components are introduced into the appliance's cabinet.

  • Patent number: 6000934
Abstract: An underfed burner has an elongated cylindrical body closed at both ends and a feed tube connected between the ends for feeding an air and gas fuel mixture into the burner through an entry portal. A pressure dispersing baffle is formed within the entry portal integral with the body of the burner and deflected downwardly into the interior of the burner. The baffle is in the form of two flaps supported by a rib integral with the body of the burner and extending across the entry portal. The baffle is formed by a die and a punch carried by the die. The die forms a depression about the opening created by the deflected baffles to define the portals and extends gradually longitudinally away from the flaps while the punch cuts the material to form the portal, the rib and the baffle flaps. A pair of mandrels enter the body of the burner from respective ends to provide support for the die and punch.
