  • Patent number: 8038321
Abstract: A luminaire housing designed to be installed to illuminate an illumination area, wherein a light source is oriented within the housing to direct a central axis of emitted light rays away from the illumination area and towards a reflective surface of a stationary reflector. In some embodiments the stationary reflector is oriented and contoured to reflect the light rays towards a light spread lens having one end positioned above at least a portion of a reflector lip and angled into the housing with respect to a light passageway. Optionally, the luminaire housing may be a recessed luminaire housing.

  • Patent number: 7384167
Abstract: A recessed downlight wall wash reflector assembly having a wall wash reflector installable into a standard mounting frame for a recessed downlight reflector having a similarly sized light exit aperture. The reflector assembly has a downlight reflector, a window cutout in the wall of the downlight reflector and a wall wash reflector attached to the reflector assembly such that it is positioned behind the window cutout and has a lower tab that extends into the lower portion of the window cutout providing for a higher angle of reflection of light from nadir.

  • Patent number: 6779908
Abstract: An adjustable downlight lighting fixture includes a rotatable housing of hemispherical configuration rotatably mounted within a stationary lower outer housing which is also of hemispherical shape with a top opening cut at a preselected angle to horizontal so that a lamp disposed within the rotatable housing may be positional at preselected angles to vertical for downlighting through a ceiling opening. The lower outer housing is integral with a base or mounting frame for attachment to an opening in a ceiling through which light from the lamp in the rotatable housing passes.

  • Patent number: 6655813
Abstract: A recessed light fixture includes a housing, a cap affixed to an upper edge of the housing, and a cover plate having an aperture formed therein and affixed to a lower edge of the housing. A junction box and transformer having associated wiring are affixed to the cap. Mounted within the housing of the recessed light fixture is a reflector having opposing first and second reflector surfaces, a first end, a second end, and a prism having at least one diverging lens. The prism is slidingly moveable within the second end of the reflector. A bulb is electrically connected to the transformer and mounted within the housing and protruding through an opening in the first end and thereby into an upper portion of the reflector. The first and second reflector surfaces are formed having a preselected parabolic geometry so that a light beam is narrowest at a preselected limit of travel of the prism closest to the bulb, and widest at a preselected limit of travel of the prism farthest away from the bulb.

  • Patent number: 6350047
Abstract: A recessed downlight wall wash reflector assembly and method of installing the same. The reflector assembly is installable from below the plane of a ceiling into a standard mounting frame for a recessed downlight reflector having a similarly sized light exit aperture. In the preferred embodiment configured for use as a single wall washer, the reflector assembly has a downlight reflector, a window cutout in the wall of the downlight reflector and a resilient wall wash reflector attached to the reflector assembly such that it is positioned behind the window cutout. The resilient wall wash reflector has flexible sides which flex inward, allowing the reflector assembly to fit through the mounting frame opening during installation. Once the assembly has cleared the frame opening, the flexible sides return to their original shape.
