  • Publication number: 20170161933
Abstract: A mobile Virtual Reality (VR) system includes a display unit, a sensing unit, a photographing unit and a VR application. The sensing unit senses a physical movement variation of the mobile VR system. The photographing unit photographs environment to generate a photograph image. Based on the physical movement variation of the mobile VR system from the sensing unit and the photograph image from the photographing unit, the VR application determines a movement status of the mobile VR system to adjust a VR display image on the display unit.

  • Patent number: 8593523
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for capturing facial expressions are provided, in which different facial expressions of a user are captured through a face recognition technique. In the method, a plurality of sequentially captured images containing human faces is received. Regional features of the human faces in the images are respectively captured to generate a target feature vector. The target feature vector is compared with a plurality of previously stored feature vectors to generate a parameter value. When the parameter value is higher than a threshold, one of the images is selected as a target image. Moreover, a facial expression recognition and classification procedures can be further performed. For example, the target image is recognized to obtain a facial expression state, and the image is classified according to the facial expression state.

  • Patent number: 8186222
Abstract: A centrifugal force sensing device is disclosed, which includes a first rotating shaft, two first movable and two first fixing sleeves, a first and a second weight, two first and two second linkages, a restoration element, a first sensing unit for sensing centrifugal force, and two fixers. The two first movable sleeves are disposed through the first rotating shaft. The two first linkages are connected to the first weight and the two first movable sleeves. The restoration element having a fixing block and two first damping elements is disposed at the first rotating shaft. The two second linkages are connected to the second weight and the two first movable sleeves. The two first fixing sleeves are fixed at the first rotating shaft and respectively located between each of the two first movable sleeves and one of the two fixers.

  • Publication number: 20100105477
Abstract: A game input device and a game system using the same are described. The game system includes a physical object, a position detector, and a game console. The physical object has an identification tag, and identification information of the physical object is recorded in the identification tag. The position detector detects position information of the physical object and reads the identification information of the physical object. The game console stores and runs game software, and has a communication interface capable of communicating with the position detector to obtain the position information and the identification information of the physical object and then update a configuration of a corresponding virtual role in the game environment (a role data table) according to the position information and the identification information of the physical object. A game player can control a progress of a game by simply using the physical object and the position detector.
