  • Patent number: 5877431
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a tension (T) of a belt in a spanned state includes a vibration detector (1A) for detecting a vibration of the belt, a vibration frequency arithmetic unit (2A) for arithmetically determining a vibration frequency on the basis of the vibration as detected, and a tester (3) equipped with a display device (35). The tester (3) includes an information processor (32) for arithmetically determining a tension (T) of the belt on the basis of the vibration frequency supplied from the vibration frequency arithmetic unit (2A) and information about the belt read out from a storage medium (9), and the display device (35) for displaying the result of the arithmetic operation performed by the information processing means. The storage medium (9) is constituted by an external memory unit capable of being detachably connected to the tester (3).

  • Patent number: 5698796
Abstract: Apparatus and method for measuring a tension of a belt in a state spanned between pulleys under tension. Vibration is applied to the belt with a frequency varying within a predetermined frequency range including a resonance vibration frequency of the belt. Amplitude of vibration of the belt is detected to thereby output a corresponding amplitude signal. Occurrence of resonance of the belt is determined on the basis of a steep change of the amplitude signal. The vibration frequency of the belt detected upon occurrence of the resonance is identified as a resonance vibration frequency of the belt. Tension of the belt is determined on the basis of the resonance vibration frequency.

  • Patent number: 5506772
Abstract: A trouble-diagnosis multi-function tester for diagnosing presence or absence of occurrence of trouble by centralized inputting of the operational information in every element of the vehicle, which is constructed with a tester which introduces input information of various vehicles through a centralized connector provided at the side of the vehicle, and displays the contents of the input information; and a computer which controls the vehicle information to be transmitted as an output through an outer expansion terminal of the tester.

  • Patent number: 4924391
Abstract: A trouble-diagnosable multifunction testing apparatus is disclosed for use with a first half part of a collective connector provided in an automotive vehicle, the first half part of the collective connector including a plurality of signal lines connected respectively to a plurality of electronic control units disposed in the vehicle for transmitting a trouble-diagnosis output signal or various data signals obtained from each of the plurality of electronic control units, and a common switchable signal line connected with each of the plurality of electronic control units for transmitting an electric signal having a first or second logic level, the first half part of the collective connector being connected operatively with both of the signal lines, respectively. When a conventional test unit is connected to the first half connector part, the electronic control units transmit data signals to it at a first rate.

  • Patent number: 4901025
Abstract: A fault diagnosis system is provided for vehicles having a pluarlity of automotive electonic devices which output fault diagnoses according to one of a plurality of output signal schemes disposed thereon. A vehicle-side connector includes pins for carrying signal lines for signals representing the results of the fault diagnoses output from the plurality of of electronic devices. The vehicle-side connector also includes at least one pin for carrying at least one control line for a signal designating a selected output signaling scheme to the electronic devices. One of a plurality of testers displays the results of the fault diagnoses on the basis of the signals transmitted from the respective electronic devices. Each tester has a tester-side connector which connects to the vehicle-side connector to connect the output signals from each of the electronic devices and the control signal for designating the selective signaling scheme.
