    Abstract: A rolling mill for metal foil includes a pair of work rollers having axes in parallel to each other for subjecting a sheet material being supplied therebetween to strip processing, two pairs of intermediate rollers arranged so that the intermediate rollers of each pair are in contact with one of the work rollers and have axes in parallel to the axis of the contacting work roller, and two pairs of backup rollers arranged so that the backup rollers of each pair are respectively in contact with one pair of the intermediate rollers. Each pair of intermediate rollers and the pair of backup rollers in contact with the pair of intermediate rollers impart roll load to the work roller in contact with the pair of intermediate rollers. The rolling mill enables the production of large-width metal foil too thin to be self-supportable in shape with ease and high precision.
