Date of Patent: February 12, 2008
    Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Katsuyuki Nakamura, Shigekazu Fuji, Isao Yasuma
  • Patent number: 7198040
Abstract: According to one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, there is provided an intake device of an internal combustion engine, having a plurality of intake passages for introducing an intake gas into a row of engine cylinders, respectively; and a secondary gas passage for introducing a secondary gas into the intake passages. The secondary gas passage includes a main gas channel, an adjacent gas channel extending downstream from the main gas channel adjacently and substantially in parallel with the main gas channel, and branch gas channels branching off from the adjacent gas channel and continuing to the intake passages.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 8, 2004
Date of Patent: April 3, 2007
    Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

  • Patent number: 7080616
Abstract: A cylinder head assembly for an internal combustion engine houses a camshaft position sensor for determining an angular position of a camshaft. A cylinder head upper is disposed between a cylinder head and a cylinder head cover, covering a part of a top opening of the cylinder head. The cylinder head is softly mounted, while the cylinder head upper is rigidly mounted on the cylinder head. The cylinder head upper includes a sensor boss for the camshaft position sensor, so that the camshaft position sensor is facing downward toward a signal plate attached to the camshaft.

  • Patent number: 6848436
Abstract: An automotive internal combustion engine comprises an engine main body including a cylinder head having intake ports, and a cylinder head cover. Fuel injector valves are disposed to be directed respectively to the intake ports. An intake manifold is installed to a side surface of the cylinder head and outward curved to define a space between the intake manifold and the cylinder head. A blow-by gas recirculation system is provided for feeding blow-by gas introduced out of the cylinder head cover to each cylinder of the engine main body through an intake system. The blow-by gas recirculation system includes a blow-by gas piping which extends from the cylinder head cover to the intake ports for the cylinders. The blow-by gas piping is accommodated within the space defined between the intake manifold and the cylinder head.
