Patent number: 6499394Abstract: In a stencil printer, an elastic member is provided on a master conveying path from a roll of master sheet to a master pinch drum. The elastic member is pressed against the master sheet to apply back tension to the master sheet when the master sheet is moved by rotation of the master pinch drum after the leading end of the master sheet has been clamped to the clamp portion of the master pinch drum.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2000Date of Patent: December 31, 2002Assignee: Riso Kagaku CorporationInventors: Katsumi Kawagoe, Muneaki Kawai, Shigeki Fukai, Hitoshi Watanabe, Kinya Ono

Patent number: 6237485Abstract: A stencil printer includes a printing drum which is rotated bearing thereon a stencil master, and a press roller which is pressed against the printing drum. A paper supply system supplies a printing paper to between the printing drum and the press roller so that the printing paper is conveyed pinched between the printing drum and the press roller. A paper supply controller controls the paper supply system so that the paper supply system supplies the printing paper to between the printing drum and the press roller at a first predetermined angular position of the printing drum for each rotation of the printing drum. The paper supply controller controls the paper supply system so that the printing paper supplied next by the paper supply system does not collide with the printing paper under printing when the printing paper is overlong.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1999Date of Patent: May 29, 2001Assignee: Riso Kagaku CorporationInventor: Shigeki Fukai

Patent number: 5924689Abstract: A sheet sorter with a stapler includes bins arranged in a vertical direction each of which receives a plurality of sheets discharged from an image recording apparatus to form a stack of sheets. An indexer receives the sheets from the image recording apparatus and is movable up and down along the array of sheet inlet ends of the bins to distribute the sheets to the respective bins through the sheet inlet ends. A stapler is movable along the path of travel of the indexer independently therefrom to staple the stack of sheets on each bin. The stapler is arranged to wait in a waiting position retracted from the path of travel of the indexer in a direction of width of the sheets while the indexer is travelling along the path.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1997Date of Patent: July 20, 1999Assignee: Riso Kagaku CorporationInventors: Shigeki Fukai, Tsunemitsu Kazama

Patent number: 5918871Abstract: A sheet sorter with a stapler includes a plurality of bins arranged in a vertical direction each of which receives a plurality of sheets discharged from an and forms thereon a stack of sheets. An indexer receives the sheets from the image recording apparatus and distributes the sheets to the respective bins through the sheet inlet ends thereof. A stapler is movable up and down along the array of the sheet inlet ends of the bins and in a direction of width of the sheets to staple the stack of sheets on each bin which has been ejected beyond the sheet inlet end of the bin by a predetermined length. A single reciprocal pusher member is actuated after completion of stapling by the stapler and pushes the stapled stack of sheets back to the bin. A centering mechanism moves the reciprocal pusher member to a position substantially opposed to the middle of the trailing edge of the stack of sheets before the reciprocal pusher member is actuated.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1997Date of Patent: July 6, 1999Assignees: Nisca Corporation, Riso Kagaku CorporationInventors: Hiroshi Saito, Naoto Mochizuki, Hideharu Yoneoka, Shigeki Fukai

Patent number: 5803337Abstract: An electric stapler has a stapling mechanism which is connected to a power source through a switch and staples a sheet stack inserted into a throat. An actuator is adapted to abut against an edge of a sheet stack at a plurality of positions along the edge of the sheet stack and to be moved by the sheet stack in response to insertion thereof to an operative position where it operates the switch to actuate the stapling mechanism. A sub-actuator is positioned in front of the actuator and is movable between an erected position where it stands into the sheet stack insertion passage to abut against a sheet stack when the sheet stack is inserted into the throat and a horizontal position where it is retracted from the sheet stack insertion passage not to abut against a sheet stack.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1997Date of Patent: September 8, 1998Assignee: Riso Kagaku CorporationInventors: Shigeki Fukai, Naoto Mochizuki

Patent number: 5632200Abstract: A stencil-making-type printing machine in which, even if rotary cylindrical drums having printing regions of different sizes are frequently used while being replaced with one another, the machine accurately detects when a used-stencil accommodating box is filled with used stencil, and notifies the operator. In the stencil-making-type printing machine, a CPU 200 determines the type of a rotary cylindrical drum loaded therein from output signals of dip switches 133 and 135 which are applied to it through electrical connectors 137 and 139.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1995Date of Patent: May 27, 1997Assignee: Riso Kagaku CorporationInventor: Shigeki Fukai

Patent number: 5224419Abstract: In a stencil master plate making printing device which can lay out duplicated images on printing paper on either side of a central line thereof without regard to the size of the originals or the printing paper that is used so that each sheet of the printed paper may be easily cut apart into a plurality of parts each serving as a desired printed copy or so that two-sided printed leaves may be obtained by folding each sheet of the printed paper along the central line and binding them together. This can be accomplished by appropriately controlling the feeding of a stencil master plate according to the size of the original images and the size of the paper on which the original images are to be reproduced in a plurality of frames.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1992Date of Patent: July 6, 1993Assignee: Riso Kagaku CorporationInventor: Shigeki Fukai
