Abstract: A d.c. voltage is supplied to an inverter power source to drive a light source. Light from the light source is directed uniformly from the back side of a liquid crystal panel. When an image is displayed on the liquid crystal panel during a display period and a position detection pen is in close proximity to the liquid crystal panel at a position detection period, coordinates are calculated according to an induced voltage by the position detection pen and the timing of applying a scanning voltage to an electrode of the liquid crystal panel. The driving of the light source by the inverter power source is suspended or reduced during the position detection period, so that noise from the inverter power source is prevented from being mixed into the position detection pen.

Abstract: A coordinate inputting apparatus has a separating circuit, a cable and a position indicating pen. The separating circuit has a low pass filter for removing an alternating current component from a signal transmitted to a signal line and a band pass filter for passing only a position information signal in a predetermined frequency band with respect to the signal transmitted to the signal line. The cable is constructed by a signal line, a switching signal line and a ground line. The signal line is used to supply power to the position indicating pen and transmit a detecting signal from the position indicating pen to each of an X-coordinate detecting circuit and a Y-coordinate detecting circuit. The position indicating pen has a low pass filter for removing an alternating current component from a signal transmitted through the signal line and a band pass filter for passing only a position information signal in a predetermined frequency band.

Abstract: In a data processor having a box type unit in which a keyboard and a folding display are incorporated, the data processor includes a main unit which has a receiver for wireless signals on an external side wall close to a supporter for pivotally supporting the folding display, and an auxiliary input apparatus having a case unit and a wireless signal transmitting unit at a corner of said case unit which is opposed to the receiving unit of said main unit when juxtaposed with said keyboard.

Abstract: A schedule setting method including the steps of writing schedule information by hand on a display combined with a digitizer, the schedule informaiton including a schedule starting time, a schedule ending time, and the contents of a schedule, detecting the locus of the handwritten schedule information, storing the schedule information in a memory, and alarming a user of the schedule information prior to the arrival of the schedule starting time.

Abstract: An easy to use schedule alarm is disclosed which is capable of sounding an alarm and displaying the content of a schedule or memorandum automatically without setting the alarm time or entering a data display instruction. With the scheduled data or memorandum being entered into the device in advance, it can notify the scheduled times by sounding an alarm and by displaying the contents of a schedule and memorandum thus serving to prevent one from leaving out scheduled times and data.

Abstract: A device for inputting handwritten information comprises an input device for detecting handwritten information in specified areas on a tablet and a memory for storing such information according to the categories so that the data can be collected and processed quickly and easily.
