  • Publication number: 20080123135
Abstract: An image processing apparatus and a host apparatus are connected to a network. Before the host apparatus uses the image processing apparatus for the first time, a communication program and information describing the image processing apparatus and its network address are transferred from the image processing apparatus to the host apparatus, and the host apparatus runs the communication program. On the basis of the transferred information, the communication program accesses a driver server through the network, downloads an image processing apparatus control program, installs the image processing apparatus control program in the host apparatus, and makes necessary settings. An up-to-date version of the control program for the image processing apparatus is thereby installed in the host apparatus without the need for input from the user.

  • Publication number: 20060291324
Abstract: A screw for a twin-screw kneading extruder comprises a screw shaft having spline grooves formed therein, and a plurality of screw segments adapted to be inserted on that screw shaft. The spline grooves of the screw segments are formed in the two end portions of the axial direction of the screw segments, while leaving the intermediate portions as relief portions, in which the spline grooves are not formed. Since the intermediate portions need not be machined, the screw can be manufactured highly precisely, even if the axial length of the screw segments is large, at a working cost as low as that for the short ones.

  • Patent number: 6575618
Abstract: An information processing device to which data can be input by the use of a rotary bezel. A pulse-count detection sensor unit 32 and a rotational-direction detection sensor unit 33 read an optical pattern which is formed on the rotary bezel to generate a series of pulse signals. The pulse-count detection sensor unit 32 and the rotational-direction detection sensor unit 33 are arranged such that a phase difference occurs between the signals of the sensor unit 32 and the signals of the sensor unit 33, so that it is possible to detect the rotational direction of the rotary bezel. A data-signal generating element 81 generates a data signal on the basis of the detected rotational angle and the pulse count generated by the pulse-count detection sensor unit 32.

  • Patent number: 5851065
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for recycling resin scrap including a thermosetting resin paint film and a thermoplastic resin substrate as its major components, wherein the resin scrap is supplied into a passage of a cylinder, melted, and delivered by screw arrays from an upstream side to a downstream side of the passage of the cylinder, and hydrolyzed by a hydrolyzing agent while forming a highly packed region with a resistor. The resistor restricts the resin scrap to flow from the upstream side to the downstream side in a short period of time, and forms the highly packed region where a contact efficiency is enhanced between the resin scrap and the hydrolyzing agent.

  • Patent number: 5572311
Abstract: A sheet of paper, plastic or the like on which an image has been formed using a toner that is photochemically decolorizable by absorption of near infrared rays is illuminated with near infrared rays under the state wherein the image is heated to a temperature equal to or higher than the glass-transition temperature of a binding resin of the toner. The color of the toner can thereby be easily and rapidly eliminated. This enables the reuse of the sheet to be realized easily and at a low cost.
