  • Patent number: 8836881
Abstract: The present inventions enables reduction of outside dimensions of a small-size liquid crystal display device for a mobile phone and also elimination of an inclination of an image display area. A liquid crystal display panel 1 is mounted on a mold 6 made of resin. Because the mold 6 has not a wall surrounding the liquid crystal display panel 1, outside dimensions of the frame 7 can be made smaller. When the mold 6 with the liquid crystal display panel 1 mounted thereof is set in the frame 7, the mold 6 elastically deforms, and an inclination of a display area 31 of the liquid crystal display panel 1 is corrected by projections 62 formed on the mold 6.

  • Patent number: 7911553
Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which aims at the reduction of thickness thereof while preventing a holder and a light emitting element of a backlight from coming into contact with each other. The liquid crystal display device includes a backlight and a liquid crystal display panel which is arranged above the backlight, wherein the backlight includes a frame-like holder and a light emitting element which is housed in the inside of the holder, the holder includes support portions which support the liquid crystal display panel, the light emitting element is housed in the inside of the holder at the support portion on a side opposite to the liquid crystal display panel, the support portion includes a recessed portion which is formed on a side opposite to a side which supports the liquid crystal display panel and at a position which faces the light emitting element in an opposed manner.

  • Patent number: 7705928
Abstract: A small-sized display device having a holder for holding a liquid crystal display panel and a frame for accommodating the holder is disclosed. Projecting portions 41 are formed in part of the holder 4 and are used as horizontal stoppers against the liquid crystal panel. Cutout portions 71 are formed in the frame 7 at positions corresponding to the projecting portions 41 of the holder 4. The outer surfaces of the projecting portions 41 of the holder are made almost flush with the outline of the frame 7 or are made somewhat inside the frame outline. With this configuration, the frame thickness is reduced, and tolerance dimensions in assembling the frame and the holder need not be taken into account, thus making it possible to reduce the outline size of the display device.
