  • Patent number: 6323443
Abstract: To provide a seat weight measuring apparatus capable of improving the safety against an abnormal force acting on the seat. A seat weight measuring apparatus (5) includes seat connecting mechanisms (17) arranged between seat fixing portions (19) of a vehicle and a seat (3), and load sensors (13) which detect the seat weight loaded on the mechanisms. It further includes displacement restriction mechanisms (25) that restrict the displacement of the seat (3) relative to the seat fixing portions (19). When the load sensors receive a force exceeding a predetermined level, the excess load is borne by the displacement restriction mechanisms instead of the load sensors.

  • Patent number: 6276419
Abstract: A sealing apparatus includes a base having a fixed jaw, a press lever having a movable jaw and pivotally supported on the base, a posture changing mechanism for pressing the press lever toward the base, and a heater for heating material to be sealed clamped between the pair of jaws. A monitor mechanism is provided for measuring the load applied between the pair of jaws at any selected point in the course of a pivotal stroke of the press lever. The monitor mechanism includes a monitor portion deformable in accordance with a press applied to the press lever from the posture changing mechanism and a sensor for detecting the load based on the amount of deformation of the monitor portion.

  • Patent number: 5593179
Abstract: An air bag is formed of a panel and a guide member fixed between two side portions of the panel. The guide member may be formed of first piece extending diagonally upwardly from a lower end near an opening of the panel to form an upper chamber, and a second piece extending diagonally downwardly from the lower end to form a lower chamber, wherein a middle chamber is defined by the front portion and first and second pieces. Gas generated by an inflator firstly enters into both the upper and lower chambers to expand the same and then flows into the middle chamber to completely inflate the air bag. The guide member may be formed of first and second guide member. The first guide member extends diagonally upwardly from a lower end adjacent the opening to form an upper chamber, and the second guide member extends upwardly from the lower portion of the air bag. A front chamber is defined between a front portion and the second guide member, and a middle chamber is defined between the first and second guide members.

  • Patent number: 5584508
Abstract: The invention is a combination of an air bag device and a vehicle. An air bag for the air bag device for a passenger seat or a rear seat is structured by superposing a lower panel and an upper panel and sewing up the peripheral portions of the panels. The lower panel is longer than the upper panel. Portions of the lower panel are superposed each other and extended out of the air bag so as to form elongated portions. A protrusion of the air bag is formed by sewing up side edges of the elongated portions with threads.
