  • Patent number: 5085970
Abstract: A method for forming an image is disclosed which comprises providing a photosensitive material comprising at least one light-sensitive layer and having a gamma value of not less than 10 and a capability of being handled under bright light, subjecting said light-sensitive layer image-wise exposure to light having substantially exclusive of wavelengths of 370 nm or shorter through originals, for example, a line original and a halftone original arranged in a superposed condition, followed by contrast development processing, whereby excellent quality of images, for example, letter images, can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4761362
Abstract: An image forming process capable of providing photographic images having extremely high contrast and high resolution for use in photoengraving is disclosed, which comprises processing an image-wise exposed silver halide light-sensitive material having at least two silver halide emulsion layers on a support, one of said emulsion layers providing a contrasty gradation and the other of said emulsion layers providing a soft tone gradation, with a hydrazine contrast development system, a tetrazolium contrast development system or a lith development system, wherein the gamma (.gamma.) value of the portion having a density (D) from 0.3 to 1.5 on the characteristic curve obtained is less than 10 and the gamma (.gamma.) value of the portion having a density (D) from 1.5 to 3.0 is at least 10.

  • Patent number: 4533623
Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material for plate making is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support base having thereon a sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and at least one upper insensitive layer having a melting time longer than the melting time of the sensitive silver halide emulsion layer. A method of reduction treatment for such silver halide light-sensitive material is also disclosed. The sensitive materials have excellent aptitude for reduction treatment and do not deteriorate even if the amount of silver per unit area is relatively small.

  • Patent number: 4455365
Abstract: A silver halide photographic material for a photomechanical process which has an excellent reduction processing aptitude is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support having a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer thereon and a light-insensitive layer disposed outside the silver halide emulsion layer. The light-insensitive layer contains a hydrophilic colloidal binder coated in such an amount per unit area as to be 1.0 or more times that of a hydrophilic colloidal binder contained in the silver halide emulsion layer.

  • Patent number: 4452882
Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material and a developing process used in connection with that material are disclosed. The material is comprised of a support having thereon a silver halide emulsion layer containing a silver halide emulsion in which at least 80 mole % of the whole silver halide is composed of silver chloride, the mean grain size thereof is less than 0.4 .mu.m, and which contains more than 1.times.10.sup.-6 mole of a water-soluble rhodium salt per mole of silver at an optional period before finishing the first ripening in the production step for the silver halide emulsion. The material also contains 1.times.10.sup.-5 to 1.times.10.sup.-2 mole of polyalkylene oxide having a molecular weight of at least 600 or a derivative thereof per mole of silver. The process involves imagewise exposing the material and processing it in a developer containing 0.05 to 0.5 mole/liter of a dihydroxybenzene series developing agent, 0 to 0.05 g/liter of an auxiliary developing agent, at least 0.
