Abstract: A tube connection assembly comprises a male member, a female member and a mating member. The male member is provided with a retaining part that is formed with a non-circular cross-section on the outer peripheral part of a male body. The mating member is held by the retaining part, is formed from an elastic material having a C-shape, and has, on a portion thereof, mating parts. The female member is provided with a receiving part in which the male member is inserted, and mating holes and formed through the receiving part. The mating member is held, so as to prevent rotation, by a base part of a retaining part that has a non-circular cross-section as a part of the outer peripheral part of the male body, and decreases or increases in diameter in the radial direction to mate with the female member through insertion into the mating holes.

Abstract: A suture comprising a core of at least one synthetic fiber filament yarns, and a covering layer formed of a plurality of silk strands and sheathing the core, the core and the covering layer having substantially the same elongation at break. The filament yarns have increased modulus of elasticity and increased breaking strength to thereby give the suture improved breaking strength and also have enhanced rigidity to render the suture highly amenable to the correction of its deformation and easier to handle.

Abstract: An artificial skin or bandage is formed from an elastomeric layer which is surfaced by a fibrous wound contacting layer which is first formed into a fabric and subsequently degraded by heat hydrolysis or other degradative treatment into a form which could no longer be formed into a fabric but which forms an ideal bioabsorbable wound contact surface in which damage to the newly formed, fragile epidermus is minimized.
