    Inventor: Shigeru JUMAN
  • Publication number: 20090244784
Abstract: A storage apparatus includes a magnetic circuit applying driving force to a carriage. The magnetic circuit includes a first yoke provided with a magnet. An end of the first yoke is secured using a first fastening member screwed in a threaded hole in an end of the base. A second yoke is opposed to the first yoke, and an end of the second yoke is secured using a second fastening member screwed in a threaded hole in another end of the base. A driving coil is held by the carriage and disposed between the first yoke and the second yoke so that the first yoke and the second yoke are attracted to each other by magnetic force of the magnet.

  • Patent number: 6738334
Abstract: A miniaturized optical disc memory is receivable in a slot, of about 17 mm height, normally accommodating a floppy disc drive. A base includes a base plate with integral, peripheral sidewalls and an internal lateral partition wall which define a cartridge receiving slot on the upper surface of the base plate. First and second support plates extend from the partition wall to the rear peripheral sidewall of the base and define respective, first and second upper mounting surfaces and lower first and second cavities respectively receiving an ejection motor and a fixed optical system, individual optical components being mounted and aligned on integral, precision machined blocks in the second cavity for transmitting a laser beam and receiving a reflected beam along a central, longitudinal optical axis beneath the base plate.

  • Patent number: 6567363
Abstract: The present invention is intended to produce an optical disk drive unit, which is an optical data recording and reproducing apparatus, compactly and to improve the efficiency in assembling components of the drive unit. The optical disk drive unit consists of a driving mechanism and a printed wiring board. The driving mechanism assists in loading a cartridge, which accommodates an optical disk that is a commutative medium, in a main unit, drives the cartridge, and reads or writes data from or on the optical disk. A circuit for driving and controlling the driving mechanism is mounted on the printed wiring board. The driving mechanism can be divided into a load/ejection mechanism and a reading/writing mechanism. The load/ejection mechanism is a united body consisting of a cartridge identification sensor, an ejection motor for ejecting a cartridge, and a bias magnet assembly.
