  • Patent number: 9639316
Abstract: Print control of access information for which a valid period is set is performed properly. A printing apparatus acquires access information which is to be used for accessing a server and which has a valid period set for the access. If an elapsed time from the acquisition of the access information exceeds a predetermined time, the printing apparatus does not print the access information even if the valid period has not expired. If the elapsed time does not exceed the predetermined time, the printing apparatus prints the access information.

  • Patent number: 9268512
Abstract: Structured language data as a processing target is acquired via a first communication path or a second communication path. A rule corresponding to a communication path used for the acquisition is selected from a first rule and a second rule which respectively correspond the first communication path and the second communication path and define processing methods for the structured language data. The acquired structured language data as the processing target is processed in accordance with a processing method defined in a selected rule. Processing is executed based on the selected rule in either case that the first rule or the second rule is selected.

  • Patent number: 9258381
Abstract: An information processing apparatus accesses to each of a plurality of access destinations via communications between the information processing apparatus and the server. And the apparatus decides a time-out time corresponding to each of the plurality of access destinations based on a communication count, with the server, for access to each of the plurality of access destinations. When accessing to an access destination of the plurality of access destinations via the communication with the server, the apparatus controls the communication to reach a time-out according to the time-out time which is decided and corresponds to the access destination.

  • Patent number: 9244643
Abstract: There is provided a printing apparatus that can prevent a user from forgetting to set print settings and that can markedly reduce the number of unnecessary prints caused by unsuitable print settings, for example, in a case in which print data such as image data is sent from an image-supplying apparatus to the printing apparatus and in which the printing apparatus prints the print data. The printing apparatus, which receives print data from an image-supplying apparatus and prints the print data, need not start printing image data immediately after the image data is received. An input of print settings is accepted in the printing apparatus, and the image data is printed using the printing settings that have been input.

  • Patent number: 8711373
Abstract: Print settings changed in a direct printing-capable image forming apparatus are treated as either temporary changes or permanent changes depending on the state of the image forming apparatus when the print settings are changed. Specifically, print settings changed when the image forming apparatus is in a direct printing-executable state are treated as temporary, whereas print settings changed when the image forming apparatus is in a direct printing-inexecutable state are treated as permanent. Usability regarding print settings is improved.

  • Patent number: 8085314
Abstract: In an image processing apparatus which can always provide an excellent processed image, an analysis unit analyzes condition information representing a condition at a time when an image is obtained and being included in image information, and determines an algorithm of an image correction process for the image based on the analyzed result.

  • Patent number: 8064710
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to detect characteristics of images such as blurring and the like without expanding compressed and stored image data. And, the above-described detection is realized by detecting image characteristics on the basis of attached information of an image, such as relation between low frequency components and high frequency components of alternate current components and contents of a quantization table of image data compressed by a compression system for converting image data into spatial frequency components. In addition, for example, as a result of detection, an image discriminated to be in a blurred state is controlled so as not to be inserted into an album template or to be inserted into a small area inside the album template. Thereby, a user can omit work of picking and choosing images to insert into an album template while taking a look at a lot of images.

  • Patent number: 7542615
Abstract: This invention has as its object to detect an image area of interest in an image file by a method with a lighter processing load by making determination using characteristics of a quantization table. Since spatial frequency information, chromaticity information, and a quantization table are acquired for respective predetermined blocks from inputted compressed image data, and are used in combination upon searching the compression-recorded image data for an image of interest, information containing AC component information for each image data block is acquired without any advanced calculations, thus searching for the image of interest in the image file.

  • Patent number: 7515294
Abstract: An image extracting method that can efficiently extract a predetermined number of images from a large amount of image data and improve user operability. Evaluations for a plurality of images are input. A predetermined number of images are extracted from the plurality of images based on the input evaluations. In a preferred form, the evaluations are sequentially input for respective ones of the plurality of images, preferably, in chronological order.

  • Patent number: 7356190
Abstract: An image area of interest in an image file can be detected by a method with a relatively light processing load by making a determination using characteristics of a quantization table. • Patent number: 7266239
Abstract: In outputting of image data, the image data is converted into color space data suitable for outputting means, and thereby a color reproducing capability of the outputting means is utilized. Thus, the image data is read, the image data is converted into first color space data, the image data is converted into second color space data, the first color space data is outputted to first outputting means, and the second color space data is outputted to second outputting means.
