  • Patent number: 6073471
Abstract: A wire-crimping device detects if an electrical terminal is stuck to a crimper after crimping, thereby effectively eliminating deformed terminals. Electrical wire-crimping device (1) has a ram (42) slidably mounted to a housing (4). A reflection light sensor (60) is mounted to the housing (4), and a pathway (80) that communicates with a wire-crimping member (40) is located in the ram (42). If an electrical terminal (30) should stick to crimpers (50, 52) after crimping, and if the wire-crimping member (40) mounted to the ram (42) rises, a wire depressor (54) will also rise, and an upper end of the wire depressor (54) will block the pathway (80). As a result, the light emitted from the reflection light sensor (60) will be reflected and detected by a light sensor, and it will be electrically detected that a defective part has been produced.

  • Patent number: 5669792
Abstract: An electrical connector includes an electrical contact 1, 1' secured in a housing 2. A wire-connecting section 4 connects the contact to an electrical wire and a solder tine contact section 3, 3' extends through an opening 12 in the housing. A contact test plate 8 is located on the contact section 3 within the opening 12 for engagement by a test contact to perform a conductivity test. Posts 9 and protuberances 23 are located at the base of the contact section 3 to secure the contact 1,1' in the housing 2. Section 20 of the plates 18, 19 are arcuate shaped to strenghten the contact section 3'.

  • Patent number: 5327644
Abstract: A harness making apparatus comprises a length measurement section to measure the length of a plurality of wires fed from a wire feeder and an insulation displacing section for insulation displacing the wires to a connector fed from a connector feeder. Additionally, the harness making apparatus is provided with a fusing section disposed adjacent to the insulation displacing section for fusing and intercoupling a plurality of wires in such a manner that adjacent wires substantially abut against one another.
