  • Patent number: 5553003
Abstract: In a control system equipped with a plurality of subsystems and a supervising subsystem for supervising these subsystems, a subgoal achievement performance is calculated by the subsystem using its own knowledge and its own condition with respect to a subgoal defined by the supervising subsystem, and the supervising subsystem controls a control system by utilizing the knowledge and conditions of the respective subsystems by applying a subgoal execution instruction to the subsystem based upon the calculation result. Since not only the knowledge but also the condition of the subsystems, proper controls can be realized in not only such a case that the supervising goal is directed to a static temporal aspect, but also such a case that the supervising goal contains a temporal element.

  • Patent number: 4918248
Abstract: An alcohol is effective produced by catalytically reducing an organic carboxylic acid ester with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst obtained by reducing a catalyst precursor comprising (A) copper oxide and (B) titanium oxide and/or titanium hydroxide at a weight ratio of (A) to (B) in the range between 15/85 and 65/35. The component (A) may be alternatively a composite metal oxide comprises copper oxide and up to 20 wt. % of zinc oxide.

  • Patent number: 4846133
Abstract: A fuel control apparatus comprises a fuel supplying means for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine depending on the operation of a fuel control valve, a hot-wire type intake air quantity sensor disposed in an air-intake passage for the internal combustion engine to detect the quantity of air passing therethrough, a memory means which is adapted to accumulate an output from the intake air quantity sensor, the number of revolution of sand internal combustion engine, or the length of time in operation of the internal combustion engine, and holds the value obtained by the accumulation after the engine is stopped, and a control means for heating a hot wire at a temperature higher than a temperature in the normal operation so as to burn off a deposit on the hot wire after the accumulated value in the memory means reached a predetermined value and the engines is stopped.

  • Patent number: 4610497
Abstract: A lamp socket device includes a socket body preferably made of a resilient material and a pair of electrically conductive terminals disposed therein and each including clamping portions having free ends bent as locking arms and a base having a locking hook bent from an upper edge thereof in a direction transverse to the locking arms. The locking arms and hooks are held in engagement with inner walls of the socket body which are positioned in mutually transverse relation. The terminals are thus easily and firmly mounted in place in the socket body against undesirable electric faults such as short-circuiting while the lamp socket device is used in a vibratory condition. Waterproof sealing characteristics and vibration resistance of the socket are improved by forming the socket body of resilient material.

  • Patent number: 4346403
Abstract: An animated cartoon production process is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: photographing a plurality of drawings one by one using a TV camera; causing the photographed drawings to be stored one by one in an image storage device; and reproducing and displaying desired drawings for a certain time interval by an image display device to check the motion of the figures in the animation. The method further comprises the steps of producing in-between drawings between key shots, adjusting the key shots or removing any of them; and thereafter copying and painting the cells and filming the completed cells. An animated cartoon production device is disclosed.
